Ok you guys i really need some motivtion and help. I know i need to lose weight for health reasons but the last week in may me and my family are going on vacation and i would like to be smaller by tyme we go. So can any of you help me? Please! If i start tomorrow it will be March 1st and then i will have like almost 3 months before we go on vacation. So how much do you think i could lose? I'm willing to do anything i just need an exercise and diet plan! How much water should i drink a day? And how many carbs or fat grams should i eat a day. By the way i'm 5'6 289 lbs. ThanksJacque

If you factor in the 5 pounds of water weight that the average dieter loses in the first couple of weeks, as well as the average of 2 pounds that you can usually lose per week, in 12 weeks you will have lost close to 30 pounds. That is with a diet of 1500-1700 calories. It is not an exact number though, because everyone's body is different. And you should drink as much water as you can. It helps to fight cravings and it is a great help in weight loss. Most people recommend 8 glasses a day but anything more than what you are drinking now is an improvement.
