so i know that the "weight calculator" is supposed to tell you if you're overweight or not, but where do they get the "ideal weight" numbers from? could a person be overweight and have the calculator say they're not, or vice versa? sorry, this might be a dumb question

thats why it says right on the weight calculator page that if you are muscular then the weight it suggests isnt accurate. You need to go to your doctor to get the real deal, but the weight calculator is just a helpful guide.

I dont think the bmi calculator is all that acurate, because some people have more muscle than fat, and muscle weighs more than fat, so you can weigh more, I saw this one site once, that said according to the bmi, tom cruise, matt daman, Brad Pitt, George Clooney were all considered overweight because of their bmi, and they are not, they just have alot of muscle, you should know if you are overweight or not, I think a body fat analysis is much more accurate.

I'll give ou an example. You know how a healthy BMI (Body Mass Index) is between the 5th and 85th percentile for your age group? Well the weight calculator tells me that my healthy weight range is 114-167 pounds. That means if I weighed 114 pounds I would be right at the 5th percentile, and if I weighed 167 pounds I would be right at the 85th percentile. 5th-85th and 114-167 are two different ways of saying the same thing, basically.
