Hi i'm new here and i have a question. If your like really overweight and dont exercise and stressed and depressed all the time can that stop you from having your period? Because i havent had mine for like 3 months and i think someone told me that it can stop because of that but i'm just wanting to make sure that its not something i should go to the doctor for. I dont know if its a health reason or not, and i am not sexually active. Please anyone who knows respond. Thanks. Sarah

It makes you not have your periods for long amounts of time. Also, it makes it really tought for you to lose weight. There is also other indicators. I would recommend going to the doctor no matter what it is because that is a long time, for you not knowing. good luck.

Reply from Camille, Age 17 - 03/02/05 - IP#: 70.80.118.xxx If you're not sexually active and you haven't had your period for three months, there is definitely a reason. It is normal to skip one once in a while, but three months is a long time. Stress and illnesses can cause you to not have your period, but even if it's just stress you should still ask your doctor about it.
