MUSCLE DOES NOT WEIGH MORE THEN FAT 1 pound of something equals 1 pound muscle is just denser i have just heard people say that a lot so i cleared it up
Reply from Barbra, Age 15 - 03/06/05 - IP#: 24.24.118.xxx it doesnt mean like if you ahve 1 pound of muscle and 1 pound of at next to each other that they are not going to weigh the same they will. But when on your body you can be losing fat and gaining muscle so your gaining weight insted of losing it but you are thinning out. get it?

Reply from Cam, Age 17 - 03/05/05 - IP#: 67.68.31.xxx Helen, that is like saying "a pound of rocks and a pound of feathers weighs the same". Of course it weighs the same, A POUND! But you will need a lot more feathers to make a pound than rocks.

Reply from Christina, Age 16 - 03/05/05 - IP#: 24.233.84.xxx Yup you guys are right. I think people are going to lissen to professional people that know about this, not a kid that says fat=muscle...great study!
Reply from Grace, Age 15 - 03/05/05 - IP#: 24.62.180.xxx If you take a measuring cup, and fill it to the top with muscle, weigh it, and then fill it with fat... the cup will weigh more with muscle in because muscle is denser and takes up less room. Then you can pack more muscle into the cup and it will be heavier.
