I love to run, but i never see any progress with my weight when i run. Even if i run for a week straight, the scale won't budge... it really de-motivates me to run if the scale isn't going to move... i don't want to give it up, but i also want to see results. What should i do?
Reply from Marielle, Age 15 - 04/01/05 - IP#: 66.69.218.xxx i say work really hard, like you seem like you are already doing, but dont weigh yourself for a whole month. like throw your scale on a really high shelf in a closet for a while. the reason this will help you is because it will allow you not to be stressed out over weight, (you can only assume if your doing so well with your diet your losing it), and it wont trigger the "i give up so im going to binge" feeling. then, after a month has passed (dont weigh yourself when your on your period!!) finally weigh yourself, and be happy over the dramatic results. its exciting because its always more weight that you lose when you wait over a longer period of time to weigh yourself. if you absolutely dont get ANY results, you might have a medical problem, and you should see a doctor. hmm... i guess you should measure your waist today and wait for a month to measure it again. that way you know whether you really havent lost weight. if you lost inches but not pounds, youve just gotten muscular. try this out, now that ive writteen it down, it doesnt sound like a bad idea and im going to try it out :-)
