I feel horrible. I'm one of those people that talk and talk and complain about losing weight but i never do anything about it. I always tell myself that i need to, but i just never do it. I guess it's because i have no encouragement. I have tried to make my parents go on a "diet" but it never works. they just bought 300 dollars worth of stuff at walmart and a little bit of it was junk. Then it sucks because i ask if they can help by not buying junk and they buy lots. well does anyone have any fun exercises or encouragments? well you might have to be harsh.
Reply from NiNi, Age 14 - 04/23/05 - IP#: 152.163.100.xxx well i used to be complaining a lot and stuff but then when i got to my highest weight i got scared you do have to suck it up and deal with it but as you go along it will get easier i promise once you start junk food wont appeal to you as much as it does now but i got really scared because i was so close to getting diabetes and your heart can become unhealthy your sugar can go really high and my aunt is like that and she gets dizzy all the time and has to eat sugar free stuff for the rest of her life and you could also gain more weight and die from it your body can just stop functioning from all the fats and sugars fat for your heart isnt good but if you start it will get easy as you go on and well i have that problem with the junk too but when dieted i asked my parents not to go out to eat because i knew i couldnt help myself so they would get take out for them and then get me what i wanted also i mean they dont have to buy junkfood if someone wants to eat chips then they can go to the gas station and buy the small bag or if someone wants icecream they can go to the icecream place and eat some but not in front of you and you can eat that stuff once in a while just not so much you can eat like lets say you <3 chips eat like a small handful every 2 wks or something and for exercises i know the machines arent fun they are the most boring thing in the world we have machines at home but i hate excersing on them i go to the gym because over there i see skinny people excersiing so im like i want to be like her and it encourages me to work up to that and i see people all around me excersizing im not the only one and i also see people who arent so skinny and they are working out too and you can always meet people over there or call up a friend to go with you thats what i do sometimes or if you dont like the gym if you have a dog jog around the block take it for a walk or jog around the house if you have a pool near you do some swimming laps play a round of basketball outside turn the music to some upbeat music and just dance dance dance and dont stop in PE class yesterday we went outside to play soccer and it was really hot and my PE class is only 30 minutes so we played soccer outside non stop on the field and when we came in it looked like we took a shower so gather up some of your friends or get your family to go with you and play some soccer you dont have to call it excersize and you dont have to call it a diet its a life change of how you eat when i see junkfood i say to myself if i eat this im going to have to excersize harder if i eat this im going to gain weight thats full of fat and its unhealthy and its okay sometimes to eat it because if you dont then your going to end up doing it anyways
Reply from Amy, Age 14 - 04/23/05 - IP#: 220.237.130.xxx My family were not supporting me losing weight and they always bought junk, so one day i asked them if i could have my own special section for my foods in the fridge and the pantry and now no one can eat my food exept me. So now I have my own foods and then the rest of the family have their own. Good Luck!!!
Reply from kels, Age 16 - 04/21/05 - IP#: 204.234.17.xxx i know it sounds horrible, but u have to suck it up and just not touch their junk. its hard for me to cuz even if u have good foods for u, if they have junk u wanna eat it. but it if they dont need or want to lose weight, then they shouldnt have to not have it just cuz u cant. try my lil trick that works w/ my mom who buys junk, when she puts junk in the cart, i take it out when she isnt looking, or look her right in the eye, take it out and say " we dont need to be eating that junk, it isnt healthy"
Reply from Courtney, Age 17 - 04/20/05 - IP#: 64.12.116.xxx Yeah that can be hard when you dont have support from you parent Lucky my parent support me so I have luck out that and I cook the food and shop for it so that might help a little but you know what I was one of those people that complaind about it all the time and never did anything about it but then I came to this board and I get some much care and some much support it help to know that there someone like you so keep in there and I encourge you and here I have a great Idea start half all the food you eat for a week no matter what it is then slow start taking out the junk food and place it with the good and remember watch the sugar and then you eating better and walking is great if you can like if you have a dog walk him they love it and you geting excusie it work for both and another thing is you can eat sweet every so often you will drive you self nut if you dont I hope this help and if you would like to talk email me at YouSmlLikButt@aol.com
