I am sitting here drinking coke and eating chips(real healthy dont u think), but i dunno how to stop over eating. If u can believe it i used to weigh 110 in 5th grade and now in 7th i am almost 200 pounds over that. I eat compolsivly and cant stop, and my friends are starting 2 notice how much weight i am gaining. Literally i only weight 294 about 2 weeks ago. It is scaring me because i know i can die but i cant stop eating and eating. im sorry i just double checked my weight its 310 so i am 200 pounds more then i was in 5th grade. It is so embarrassing really. I believe in the begining of the year i only weighed 198. I need help my sn is irishblondie224, but please post tips to help me stop my compolsing eating!!!! Thanks!!!!

Its not that I still dont, I just eat less now. Sometimes the best thing to do is make your parents aware of your concern and tell them that you want to get healthy. Its not gonna happen in a heart beat mind you. Maybe they'll just stop bringing home chips and stuff for you to indulge on. All in all, you just need some motivation. Why not join weight watchers IF its a huge problem for you to do it the natural way? After all, that is like the only 'diet' I'de ever refer anyone to, its like a whole life style change....which is wat you may need.
Reply from Oliver, Age 16 - 05/07/05 - IP#: 216.209.122.xxx Hi, I suffered from the same problem you did. I am currently barely in the healthy weight range, but I am slowly creeping down. One thing that I did was whenever I got a craving, I would have a glass of water and wait for 10 minutes. Then, if the craving hadn't ceased, I would have an apple, banana or pear if I was craving sugar. If I was craving fat or protein(I originally perceived this craving as salt), I would have a small handful of peanuts, an avocado or a turkey bite (it is like a hot rod, except made with turkey meat--only 50 calories per 1), followed by another glass of water. Then I would engage in an interesting activity (something involving physical movement, such as playing fetch with my puppy or skipping. I found skipping particularly helpful, as I would constantly try to break my record. I found that story on this site about the baseball kid very helpful. Just one more thing before I wrap this up--the human creature cannot live in deprevity--as the story said, enjoy the food you used to eat in half portions. If you drink 2% milk, try moving down to 1% (lol, that one came hard for me, but I finally did it). Having someone to talk to is also extremely helpful, if they are understanding and supportive. You don't want someone who is judgemental or critical. Good luck :)
