Reply from emily, Age 15 - 05/15/05 - IP#: 166.70.52.xxx the more muscle you build the more cardio you will be able to do! i try to do cardio everyday in addition to toning every other day. if you dont do any toning your skin will sag when you lose a lot of weight. you can buy a exercise video just for toning certain parts of your body i have one for the stomach called Target Training: stomach. with tony little. its good and only takes around a half hour.

Doing situps without cardio will still firm and tone the muscles but you will not see any results really. The best workout is a combined effort of total body toning and cardio. The toning helps to keep your muscles looking firm and toned and the cardio burns more fat. Doing just sit ups will not flatten your stomach unless you are doing something to get rid of the fat as well. However, doing just cardio can also have a bad effect on your muscles, so it is best, as I already stated, to work out your entire body in both toning and cardio to flatten your stomach, as backwards as that sounds.
