hey whats better for burning fat walking or running. currently, i set my treadmill's incline to 10.0 and and a uphill walk for 1/4 of a mile. then, i run 1 1/4 miles, i run at 5.5 speed for 1 min. then 6.5 for 1 min. i do this twice then walk for 1 min. will the program i am doing now burn fat, or should i change my program. if so, any ideas? THANKS.

that is absolutely perfect because the change of speed kinda confuses your body and then it is ready to burn the max amount of what you were/are doing at the one minute interval also when your finished it still burns calories because it thinks your going to go fast again so it over prepares it self...just change it up when it seems to get easier..

what your doing sounds fine, but after you get good at it, you should make it a little harder to build your endurance and stuff..
