is it true that if you only eat 1700 cals a day, you lose a pound a week? the math is right, but does anyone know if it works from experience?

I have lost almost 30 pounds eating at least 2000 calories a day. You have to figure it out for yourself! Try eating about 1800 a day, for a week, and then if you maintain/gain, try cutting 100 calories and then try another week. it's the only surefire way to know how many calories you should be getting.
