Ht. 5'3'', Wt. 147 - Is anyone here vegetarian? I have been thinking about becoming one and i need some advice. I dont wanna become vegetarian just because i will lose weight, i want to do it because i hate the way they kill animals. And this world started off eating nothing but anything from the ground. Why can't it be that way now lol
Reply from george, Age 15 - 08/13/05 - IP#: 68.78.165.xxx no, thats not how it started. animals were put here to be part of the food chain. early nomadic tribes followed the herds of ANIMALS. they didnt just eat what came from the earth. factory farming is a sad thing and you dont have to partake in eating meat. but like one of the others said. then your going to have to start popping essential vitamins and minerals that you wont be getting. and even so, i believe that if cows were carnivores they would hesitate when it came to eating one of us.

Reply from Paris, Age 13 - 08/12/05 - IP#: 68.155.237.xxx and they also dont get the GREASY FAT from eating fruits and veggies
Reply from Ed, Age 15 - 08/12/05 - IP#: 152.163.100.xxx Meats are vital to our diets though. They have proteins and delevepmental amino acids you can't get from anywhere else. They help the formation of our adult muscles, bones, bone structure, etc. Vegetarian's are neccasarily the healthiest people because they only eat fruits and vegetables, especially when they're not getting the proteins and amino acids I'm getting from a big juicy steak.
Reply from Elizabeth, Age 14 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 68.89.159.xxx i'm a vegitarian too but i still eat seafood (because of nutriants in it). also to Ed- if the women were planting and the men were hunting shouldn't the men eat meat and the women eat veggies? that is if families back then weren't good at sharing
Reply from Kaylie, Age 14 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 24.207.41.xxx I've been a vegetarian for some time and it is much healthier. Veggie burgers and veggie dogs taste the same as normal meat!
Reply from Paris, Age 13 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 68.18.189.xxx Ugh i have heard that a thousand times Ed. And thanx for the awesome advice Jess!
Reply from Ed, Age 15 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 205.188.116.xxx The world started by primitives spearing and slaughtering mass herds of animals, while their wives stayed at home and planted. It's the same way now only less primitive, and much easier for everyone involved. The animals are going to die one way or another, and if humans didn't eat animlas there would be mass-population problems with animals starving to death anyway. I just thought I should share my views. Thanks! Good Luck!
Reply from Jess, Age 15 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 62.254.0.xxx Im a vegetarian! Its cool, i did it partly because of the killing animals but mainly because i was fussy about wether my meat had blood bits or veins in it or if it was cooked properly. When your a veggie you dont have to worry about that. I love being vegetarian, the food is so nice, and so much healthier and you can get almost everything thats meat in vegetarian like sausages, burgers, hotdogs, bacon, nuggets, and things like vegetarian mince for cottage pies, lasagne. and looooooads more it doesnt end! :-)
Reply from Cally, Age 17 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 24.5.153.xxx Yes, definitely become vegetarian! I have been one since this march and I love it, i even lost some weight by doing it. I feel so much healthier and I love knowing i did not contribute to the slaughtering of animals even if they were raised to be eaten (that is what i am against, not just killing them). Try it, if you like it, stick with it, you are doing the world and yourself a favor by going veggie.
Reply from Aida, Age 16 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 69.22.215.xxx yeah killing animals is so cruel but we still eat meat lol so I guess we can't say anything? being a vegeterian seems cool. Good Luck!
Reply from Ed, Age 15 - 08/11/05 - IP#: 205.188.116.xxx Elizabeth, that was the dumbest thing I ever heard in my life. Yes, they were familes, therefor they shared. I don't know what kind of household you live it, but it can't be a great on if you all don't share your food.
