Ht. 5'4, Wt. 146 - I was just reading a post that I thought I could relate to, and it got me to thinking, why is it that girls are expected to be so much skinner than boys? I know about muscle mass, body make-up etc. etc. etc..... But, what I'm saying is that, go to the girls section of your favorite clothes store, and check out an XL or L shirt. Then go to the boys section and compare the girls shirt to the same size (XL or L) boys shirt. The thing is, the boys shirts are a LOT bigger! and even the conveniant staores carry XXL XXXL XXXXL or whatever boys shirts, but, its like a sin for a girl to wear that size. And even if a girl did fit into an XL or L shirt, why is it that it's still so small that your gut is sticking out the bottem or whatever, or whenever you go to raise your arms, your shirt lifts up! I really don't like looking at my gut, why would other people? You know what I'm saying ladies? Why is it that really overweight girls have to go to the maternaty or guys section just to get a shirt that fits them? What do ya'll think?

Reply from Dan, Age 17 - 08/12/05 - IP#: 63.162.23.xxx Girls are naturally smaller than guys, since america is the only country with a majorly popular obese female population and ALMOST ALL OF OUR CLOTHES ARE MADE FROM FOFREIGN COUNTRIES(without female obese issues), well im sure you get it , tough luck.
Reply from Shekina, Age 17 - 08/12/05 - IP#: 156.56.123.xxx I think the reason girls are expected to be skinnier than guys is cause when a guy has a little extra weight, it's not that noticable (partly cause of the clothes, guys clothes are made to be baggy). But when a girl is a little chubby (again cause the way clothes are made, tighter to flatter healthy curves) you notice, cause of tighter clothes showing the extra pudge. But places should carry bigger sized clothes for girls!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply from Paris, Age 13 - 08/12/05 - IP#: 68.155.224.xxx i totally agree with you. I went to a store at the beach and the only size i saw there was Extra small, small and some mediums. I was lucky if i found a large in anything. Much less Extra Large. And I know i could fit easily into a medium, but they make them so small that i cant take it off once its on lol. Its stuck. As if it wasnt enough trouble getting it on. But we shouldnt have to get Ls and XLs. Its rediculous
