Ht. 5' 4", Wt. 205 - Hey again, i know I just posted but im so upset. See, my mom and dad know Im really fat and they want me to lose weight but they just make fun of me all the time and tell me that Im fat. I tried to tell them that I want to diet and exercise, but they said that you can eat as much as you want as long as you do a little exercise youll lose weight. I know thats not true. They MAKE me eat at dinner and say Ill be off tv and my computer if I dont do what they say. How am I supposed to lose weight with support like that? Any advice would be appreciated. Help.

Well lets see sit your parents down and talk them about it tell them that you truly want to lose weight explain to them how much this means to you, oh and dont forget to show some effort.Eating healthy is the main key to losing weight, eat healthy foods like celery, apples, watrmelon, oranges.and etc.And dont forget to exercise 30 min a day and you will be on your way to losing weight.Good luck with everything

Some parents are just unsupportive like that, but you have to make yourself work for it if you really want to lose the weight. If they make you eat dinner (which you should be doing anyway-skipping meals is a bad idea) just pace yourself and eat only until you are full. If they make you eat it all, rationing your other two meals might be a good idea. However, if you do want to confront them about, bring information to the table or ask them to change the things they give you at dinner. Most parents don't take their kids seriously when they tell them that they want to change, so you have to prove it. If nothing else, if you exercise more (less television and computer may be in order in some cases)and balance out your meals they will notice a difference in the way you look even before you do.

You're parents obviously want you to lose weight, but don't want you going down the wrong path where you might end up with an eating disorder because you're skipping meals. Show your parents a diet you're aware of, and tell them your plans of cutting down how much food you actually consume, or volunteer to cook your own meal. This way you can cook a dinner for yourself you know is healthy and will help you lose weight.
