Ht. 5 something, Wt. 170 - I am overweight and i cannot do sit-ups for my life!!! We have to do it in pe so i don't want to look stupid when i cant even do a stupid sit-up 10 at that so i wanted to know if yall have any tips to give me to hepl me do sit-ups!!!!!

Reply from Julie, Age 16 - 08/22/05 - IP#: 4.242.171.xxx Do you do full sit ups, or crunches? If you do full sit ups, practice at home with crunches, they are easier, and they will help build your stomach muscles, which will help you do a sit up.

I'm in gym with a bunch of stick skinny girls that can't lift their heads off the ground without complaining. If you really want to be able to do them better, do it because you want to improve yourself, not to keep people from noticing something you don't like. One thing you could do is lie down on your back with your toes wedged under something heavy and low to the ground (such as a door or a desk.) By doing this, it will make it easier for you to lift yourself up into a higher sit up. If you do them this way for a while, it should make it easier to do in gym.
Reply from jan, Age 12 - 08/22/05 - IP#: 70.50.158.xxx Start with half situps. which means get the top half of your back off the floor hold them for a few seconds then slowly go back down. If you do them for awhile they will make real situps a bit easier.
