Reply from Jamie, Age 16 - 08/22/05 - IP#: 152.163.100.xxx 1200 is a good number of calories to get down to (Doctors say that it is unhealthy for anyone to eat any less than that), but I found it hard to do. It might be easier to take down the number of calories you eat slowly. For example: If you usually eat 2,000 calories a day, you should start by dropping it down to around 1,800. It is only two hundred calories, but every calorie counts. After you get used to eating that much and you stop feeling as if you need those two hundred calories (I usually have 0 percent will power when it comes to keeping myself from eating too much if I get hungry enough.) Eventually, after loosing some weight and adding more exercise to your daily routine, you could drop another 200 calories. It seems slow and probably a major waste of time, but if you do it continuously and do it every day it should help. Not to mention that if you are anything like me, changing everything drastically overnight only works for a few weeks at most before I break down and go right back to the way I was before.
