Ht. 5'5", Wt. 138 - Hey, a few days ago, I exercised really really hard and for a really long time (like 5 hours). My back started hurting the next day. I know that is normal when you overdo the exercise, but it has been like 3 or 4 days and it still hurts and I can't jump rope, or do jumping jacks, or run alot or do some of the other exercises because it really hurts. How long is it supposed to hurt for and what should I do for exercise that doesn't hurt the back? What should I do to make it feel better really soon? Please help. Thanks! I will put a heat pack on it tonight. Lets hope that helps.

just put ice for 20 min. than put hot for 20 min. on the places it hurts and rest!

I don't understand what you people are thinking when you exercise for 5 hours. I know you really want to lose weight but there is such a thing as a weight disorder. and you do not have to be stick thin to have it.

hey, when my back started hurting a long time ago and i put a heating pad on it- it made it worse- try exercises that strenghten the back- i wouldnt try to do any regular exercises until ur back stops hurting

It can take a while for the pain to go away. It could be about a week or so. Do you think it was actually worth it? Yeah, you got a good workout that day, but as a result, you're not able to exercise for the next week. Try doing some stretching, that usually helps the pain to subside, and allow you to continue exercising.

i dont know how much of that time was actually ahrdcore working out. but if most of it was... u really really overdid it. if u spend lieka a whole day or (5) hours walking, or doing some sport, thats fine. but like intense muscle targeted working out, situps, running etc.. your bodys in shock! wait it out, workout in small amounts each day until the pain goes away, then workout more again, but not 5 hours a day! lol . 30 minutes a day will maintain a healthy body weight (with proper diet) so to loose weight anything over that is good. an hour or 2. take a break. if u wanna do 3 some days... and u can. then go for it.. but listen to ur body! :) be healthy and .. all i can say is if u do it right and healthy ur gunna be really successful with ur goals,... cuz to workout that long shows amazing willpower. peace.
