They don't really help you lose fat, the way cardio exercise does, but they help tone and build your muscles, and the more muscles you have, the more fat you burn, on a regular basis. I would deffinately suggest that you do some kind of cardio as well. Why do you have to stay in your room? I can't think of any good exercises that you dont need any equipment for. Maybe jumping jacks? Or if you have a jump rope?
