Then just change the way you eat. Instead of junk food try eating salads, fat free yogurt and add some chicken. Red meats are fattening so try changing that and eating more chicken in your meals. And just add some excersice to your lifestyle. That's all I did and I lost over 50 pounds now. It's been like 7 months but I went down over 7 sizes and I'm very happy. I never gave up and once in a while yea you can have sweets just don't over do it. You have to eat a lil sweets otherwise you will crave it so bad that you will just eat so much of it and that will not help it will just gain more weight. Good luck you can do it!

Reply from Jane, Age 17 - 11/10/05 - IP#: 70.57.251.xxx Being negative on yourself and calling yourself "fat butt" is the first thing that is wrong. You have to stop thinking so negativly and set a new cognitive thought process "I know I am overweight, and I am going to change it". Being overweight feels terrible, I know (I am, but am in the workings of changing that). Believing what other poeple call you, because I cannot believe that you willingly call and enjoy deeming yourself 'fat butt', is the most wrong thing to do. You have to tune out what they say and concentrate and how you are going to change yourself. Your method of choice is up to you, whether hard-core dieting, or exercising like there is no tomorrow, or best of all, a healthy combo of both. You don't have to follow a fancy diet, just cut the junk food. And oddly enough, once you are in the thick of it, you are so determined that going back to junk food just doesn't seem like an option. Exercies is a great way to work off all the stress of what mean spirited jerks say to you, and it pays off so much in the long run. Not to mention afterwards, you feel absolutely great. My suggestion is to walk every night, or if you can start walking to school. Bring a CD player, it makes everything so much more fun. And walk as far as you can comfortably do and work on it from there. When you reach your first goal you will feel so much better and so happy. That is what is working so far for me. Don't feel so down on yourself. Sometimes we are our own worst critics and all that dose is hurt ourselves and thats no fun.
