Ht. 5'8, Wt. 180 - my dad said to not eat any from the grain food group. he and my brother both lost a lot of weight only eating veggies, fruit, meat, not oils and fats, i tried once but i only did it so i could fit into a dress in sixth grade then a month later i gained it all back cause i couldn't take it anymore
Reply from Rachel, Age 13 - 12/30/05 - IP#: 207.200.116.xxx why r u guy going all crazy over no grains. it's just how my dad and brother did their diet, they just chose to eat that way.
Reply from melissa, Age 17 - 12/30/05 - IP#: 71.50.4.xxx umm.. actually not. fruits and vegetables DO have carbs.. you're right. but fruits and vegetables have little carbs in them.. plus they are good for you. also, why would you go on a low grain diet when the BIGGEST PART of the food chain is grains?? That's the food group you're supposed to get the most of, not cut out.
Reply from charlotte, Age 15 - 12/30/05 - IP#: 71.112.36.xxx um actually it's only a no grain diet the real no carb diets dont let u have barely any fruits of veggies either because fruits and veggies have carbohydrates in them it's just that grians r actually refered to as carbs
Reply from melissa, Age 17 - 12/30/05 - IP#: 71.50.4.xxx that's actually called a "low carb" diet... you eat absolutely no carbohydrates... and yes it is a good way to lose weight. you loose it fairly quickly in the beginning. but.. unless you plan on keeping up a "low carb" lifestyle for the rest of your life... it's not a very good diet to do because you will gain all of the weight back once you put carbs back into your diet.
Reply from charlotte, Age 15 - 12/29/05 - IP#: 71.112.36.xxx that diet is not good for u grains actually u do need and u cant do that ur whole life so u would just gain it all back and plus mens bodies work diffrent so sometimes they can take stuff like that, in other words diffrent people need diffrent diets
Reply from Elizabeth, Age 14 - 12/29/05 - IP#: 72.129.213.xxx You need all of the groups even if you only have a tiny tiny bit of grain it's better then nothing.
Reply from Katherine, Age 13 - 12/29/05 - IP#: 24.118.82.xxx I think that insted of not eating any grains.. balance all the other groups out so your not eating alot of meat and then none of something else. Take it in moderation or find a website to tell you how much you need of a each group for your age weight and height because your body isnt the same as your brothers or dads.. hope it works :) good luck
