Ht. 5'1, Wt. Don't wanna say... - Okay when I first came to this site on 7/7/04 I was 160 trying to get to my goal of 90ish but I'm not trying to get that low anymore my goal now iz 110-120ish and ever since then I gained and now am 180 I have been a total yo-yo up and down wit the weight which is getting on my nerves. To much junk in the house and not enough healthy stuff. I think I do okay during school hours but that's only because I am not home to eat junk or have money to go to the store. I bring a sandwhich and sometimes and apple or banana and I buy one bottle of water I'm glad that I'm not buying no junk or pop at school but when I come home I eat junk or go to the store and buy it and just become lazy when I get home don't do anything besides sit in front of the TV or at the computer. Lately there has been more junk in the house because yesterday was my mom's birthday and my sister made cupcakes and we had ice cream... So anyway I want to get to 110-120 I need to I'm tired of having these gross flabby arms and jiggly thighs and back fat.. and my stomach I want more toned and everything. I can't stick to any diet. Also, my mom asked me when my sister moves out if I wanted to go on the atkins diet with her...would that be a good idea or what? I need tips. I was 160 when I came here now I'm 180 probably even more!!! - Montana

The atkins diet is a way of life.. you don't just stop it once you lose the weight. You slowly get to add the amounts of carbs you are allowed to eat. It worked very well for my mom, eating few carbs is like a religion to her now and she has kept 80 pounds off for 2 years.

well my mom just got the nabisco chips ahoy and ritz snack mix 100 cal packs(they r so good!) oh and some yoplait strawberry yogurt..and i wouldnt suggest going on the atkins diet because my dad went on that diet and although he lost like 50 lbs he is gaining some of it back..because when u r done with the diet and u start eating carbs again u just gain the weight right back!..well good luck!

If you have trouble after school, try to find stuff to do during that time. Track should be starting soon (it starts the middle of Feb where I live-it's probably similar for you). Not only will that give you something to do after school, but it'll help you get LOTS if exercise. Remember, there's more to track then just running. If you absolutely don't want to do sports, find something else to do. Find an afterschool club to get involved with, or go to your school (or maybe an elementary school) and see if there is some way you can start tutoring, or something. I tutor two times a week, and do a program called Kids in Motion once a week, and it has really helped me a lot. You should really try to find something to do after school. If all else fails, just go for a walk immediately when you get home. Remember, if you want results, you have to put in effort.
