Ht. 5'5", Wt. not sure - Heyyy peoples. I was wondering how often you have a treat (non-diet food like ice cream or a candy bar or fast food). I want to eat healthy most of the time and have a treat every (insert number here) days.
Reply from laura, Age 18 - 02/12/06 - IP#: 69.47.203.xxx the worst thing you can do is deny yourself something, or limit it to something crazy like " i'll only have dessert twice a month. you will only binge. i guess it all depends on your calorie intake. say you eating limit is 1200 calories a day and you haven't reached it yet and it's the end of the day. you could get away with a little something. don't use desserts as rewards tho, trust me it doesnt work well. im really addicted to sugar. im a vegetarian so i have to eat healthy to make up for no meat consumtion. but i have to have some sweet each day so i look at the labels and try to make it a good choice. like frozen yougurt instead of a hot fudge sunday. or plain popcorn instead of butter lovers. sucking on lolipops or gum throughout the day can also help u not binge on a single high fat item latter on in the day.

If you are not... cut it in half and put somthing gross on it like salt and pepper so you will not eat it.
Reply from jackie, Age 13 - 02/09/06 - IP#: 71.115.205.xxx this is my personal way of looking at it: don't look at dessert as something forbbiden, but don't look at it as something to eat all the time. every single time i am offered dessert i ask myself 'if i give this up will i care 35 seconds from now?' and the answer is alway ' and the anwer is always no. if you say to yourself "i'm never going to eat dessert again" your probably not going to feel very good about your decision. but if you tell yourself they're ok to eat, then when the time comes when someone offers you dessert, you'll likely feel good about it. lol that was a kinda confusing way to put it but i hope you caugh my drift : ) later~jackie **ohh and if you MUST have a dessert, try cutting it in half and eating it a bit slower..
