You aren't supposed to cheat. Then on Easter you can have it back. I think I am giving up dessert this year.

Reply from brittney, Age 14 - 02/26/06 - IP#: 24.45.138.xxx lent is a time for Catholic people to give up something or do something for 40 days, from Ash Wednesday to Easter, giving up of meat on fridays, alcohol, sweets, and other types of food. As well as giving something up you can aim to do something better, like not fight with a brother or sister. then on Easter you can have all those things back that you gave up. during the 40 days, sundays do not count since that it the day that jesus rose. that's why the six sinday during Lent are called " the six sundays IN Lent"...this is my definition of it and i hope it clears things up lol
