My son is 13 and weighs 230lbs. I dont know what to do anymore. Hes much bigger then me and has a larger clothing size(size 34 jeans). I dont know where to buy him clothes anymore. His sister works for McDonalds and brings him home two burgers, two fries and a soda and he eats it all. I cant stop it because im not home at the time. Instead of going outside he sits on the couch getting bigger and bigger. For lunch at school he dosent eats what i give him and buys pizzas and candy from the machines. Whenever hes out in public he tries to suck i his huge belly. At school he has friends but says that hes the fattest in his grade. I am actually not overweight and he wasnt like this before. Sometimes i dont think that he cares that hes fat. I dont know what to do anymore, PLEASE HELP!

I think one of the reasons is that they need to hear it from an outside source-doctor probably. I share your thoughts that it is very frusterating when you are trying to help. I just keep trying-I found that because he's a follower, I try to have friends or family over that have healthy eating habits- and are active. It seems to help over everything else that I've tried. I've even made different arrangements for his childcare when others didn't want to listen to me about the fact that he needed to learn healthier habits.

I do want to tell you that a size 34 jeans is NOT big unless you are very short. My husband is 5'11" and he wears a size 34. He is not fat at all. He is not skinny but he is in his weight range for his hieght. But, I do want to tell you that my son seems to not care sometimes that he is overweight either. I really makes me sad sometimes. Maybe we can chat sometimes and share. Good Luck!!!
