My son David is 6yrs and is 48" tall and weight 92 lbs. He has adhd and a learning disablity. David is the most loving and out going of my other boys. He would love to wear jeans like his brothers, but I am having a very hard time finding jeans that fit him. If anyone has any suggestion to where I can find some please let me know, thanks

My youngest son is very bottom heavy, and there are some other boys like him. Not all heavy boys, or men, for that matter, only have big stomachs. That needs to be taken into account when ordering clothes online.

I wish I this sight had been around when he was younger, would have made my life easier. I also sew so I have made a lot of his uniform pants and now huskyfashions.conm sells them also.
Reply from Mary, Child's Age 8 - 05/04/06 - IP#: 68.255.234.xxx The size chart at huskyfashions.com is very true to life. If getting the elastic waist jeans they allow for almost 8-10 inches of stretch. I have returned and exchanged with husky fashions without any problem. They are very nice people who had the same problem dressing their child as we do. I would steer clear of mens pants because you'll find the crotch is way too big and the shortest length I found is 30 and then you have to cut 6 or more inches off and in my opinion they don't look nice.
Reply from joe, Child's Age 14 - 05/03/06 - IP#: 66.8.202.xxx It's tough to buy online because each kid's measurements are different. Our two boys were both bigger than Cathy's son David when they were his age, but one was much bigger around the hips, rear, and thighs than the other. If something we ordered online fit one, it wouldn't fit the other, even though their heights and weights were about the same. In other words, each one carried the weight differently. If you are going to buy something online, check the "return policy" before you buy.
Reply from Mary, Child's Age 8 - 05/03/06 - IP#: 68.255.234.xxx Check out www.huskyfashions.com they have quite a variety of jeans and pants made especially for husky boys but the measurements are different than those you buy in the store (more realistic). Their sizes start with size 6 husky. I buy the jeans and khaki's. Good Luck.
Reply from joe, Child's Age 14 - 04/30/06 - IP#: 66.8.202.xxx When our boys were your son's age, they were about his size. None of the "husky" sizes at Sears or Pennneys came close to fitting. If jeans are that important to your son (and he sounds like a good kid who deserves something "special"), i think the best you can do is have him try on men's sizes and then hem them. My wife found the denim difficult to sew, and the legs were wide, but they fit over my son's hips and rear, and the main thing to him was that they had all the jeans style sewing and pockets.
