Anyone have experience with getting pants tailored? My boy is 11 and stores most of his extra weight in his thighs and butt. Wearing men's sizes has never worked because he's average height for his age. We tried a small men's pair of sweatpants and even they were too small whilst also being too long in the legs? Are husky-sizes worth it or should we just skip and buy adult and get them hemmed?

Hi, I don't know their exact weight. We try not to focus so much on that. They are average height and both relatively big. That gives some challenges with clothes for the youngest, which is too short to use adult sizes. As soon as he is tall enough to use 27" inseam pants without hemming, it gets much easier.

Eric how much do your boys weight?
Are they still putting on the pounds?

Thanks yes. He's about 5'0 exactly and 127lbs when we last checked a month ago. He's always preferred sweatpants and comfy fabrics but dress pants and belt are not a good look on him so far, even if we find a brand that is comfy. I also think some of it is him being self-conscious.

Yes! My youngest is 10, soon turning 11, and same with him, most of his extra weight is in his hips and butt. Husky sizes are mostly too small, and adult sizes too long. For sweatpants at home you will always find something, but for nicer pants, getting something that fits well, but is too long, and getting them hemmed is what has worked well. Also some unisex pants are often cut to accomodate a larger hip and butt area, worth checking out. How tall and how much extra weight does he carry?
