How is everyone doing?
@Jesse how is the situation with Kevin and sports?

We’re doing great, here. The holidays have been wonderful so far. Emily and Chloe have been helping me bake. We usually put on extra weight during the holidays and this year has been no exception. I agree that we should not stress over our kids’ weights. At 410 and 352 Emily and Chloe are happy with their bodies and know that I will love and support them no matter their size.

I share "need advice"'s concerns. Compared to his friends, Kevin is enormous. He takes men's sizes and he's not even 10. When I was a kid I was fat and I was embarrassed by it, but Kevin seems proud (better than being embarrassed, I know, but it doesn't help) Lane and his friends have given the nickname "Sumo" to him and Kevin doesn't mind. He watches sumo matches online and says he wants to go to Japan and watch live matches. I can't understand why kids think it's fine to be massively overweight

Okay
That’s good to hear everyone is doing good
I think we shouldn’t stress to much over our children’s weight.
That’s difficult because it’s nice that Lane and Kevin have such a good time together
But if it keeps going like that Kevin is gonna put on more and more and probably not even gonna play football
@Andreas how much does your son weight?

Hi all,
It seems like a lot of you also have quite large, similar age boys to mine. Am I overreacting with his weight? I don't want to cause him a complex or anything, but the rapid weight gain has me concerned. Should I continue to try snd do something or just let him be? I'd appreciate any advice.

Kevin is a happy kid and he has friends at school. They're all chubby or fat, but Kevin is the biggest. Part of the problem is Lane. At 16, he and his friends all drive and they bring Kevin with them to eat fast food or bring food for him. When Kevin came to live with us in early 2023, he had a hard time at first. Lane really helped. Lane is 350+ and loves to eat and Kevin adopted his habits. I am very worried about his. When he came to us he was thin and if he keeps up like this, he'll be huge. I tried to cut back on portion size and snacks but he pouted and sulked. Lane is no help. He waa chubby when he was Kevin's age and thinks there's no problem. He and his buddies think it's cute that Kevin eats as much as they do.

My son is doing alright, as before mostly just at home, watching playing games and stuff.
He's put on quite a bit over the last few .knths, thanksgiving and all the Christmas stuff didn't exactly help

Okay thats to bad he couldn’t join the team
And with 9 years he isn’t gonna be able to start lifting weights for quite some time
But as long as he is happy I think that’s what is most important.
My boy also was always bigger and is quite big now, and not interested in sports at all. And he is doing fine and has a lot of friends

Over 200 lbs at 9 is quite big. Is he ok with his size and body? How does he handle his size?

Kevin is doing fine but he's not involved in sports. He was going to sign up for youth football in July but he weighed too much. The maximum weight for a 9 year old is 130 pounds and he weighed 162. He was real discouraged because he hero worships my son Lane (16). I weighed Kevin this morning and we weighs 203 pounds. He wants to lift weights like Lane and his football buddies but of course Kevin is too young for that
