Since that age I have always been considered obese. For a while I succeed in eating healthy with the correct portions and exercised daily but saw almost no results. The 10 lbs I lost were gained back along with 10 more pounds. Im going through this cycle where I work so hard loose a few pounds get dissapointed and then gain back the little i lost plus more. I just need any advise i can get other than dont give up. Im sick of looking in the mirror and seeing my stomach hanging over my jeans and huge thighs. Im disgusted by my image. I need to find motivation somewhere. Help :(
Reply from Sara, Age 23 - 10/05/12 - IP#: 67.193.221.xxx I think that if you're going through these cycles than you aren't "dieting" correctly. Are you feeling deprived? Are you eating enough? A lot of times people who are trying to lose weight will deprive themselves of certain treats that they would normally eat and then when they do end up eating these treats again they gain the weight back. You need to think about this as a lifestyle change, rather than a diet. What I mean by that is you have to be realistic with the changes that you make. If it is unrealistic for you to cut out sugary chocolate bars, then don't cut them out. Instead gradually cut down on the amount of chocolate that you eat and then eventually find a healthier alternative that is just as satisfying. It is OK to have these treats every once in awhile and still lose weight. I'm not sure if this is what has been happening to you, so I'm only guessing because that's how I use to "diet". If you gave a little bit more information about where exactly your struggles are then that could help. Do you emotionally eat? If I can lose weight, anyone can. You just have to find what works for you.
