I was always the kid who wanted sweets, candy, and unhealthy foods. Only being 19 years old, I have recently been diagnosed as having early onset of type 2 diabetes. It certainly has changed my entire life. It's even tougher being in South Korea because my family is military. It's not what I pictured in my life, especially at this young of an age. I knew I may have been doomed one day way later in my future, just not a kid. My parents felt it was a lot of their fault, but also, it was mostly mine. I controlled what went in my mouth, and whatever I thought was amazingly good, I ate it. My mindset then was as "eh, nothing bad can happen this early in life to me." Boy, was I wrong. I have high blood pressure, menstrual problems, high blood sugar, high cholesterol (which you need to keep a very close eye out for), and now I am on medication. Not what a teenager wished it be like. I want my story out there, to show other people that yes, it can happen this early in your life, and there is nothing good about it. Since June of 2012, where I was at my highest weight (315), I have now lost 51 pounds. I'm still going, I want to get my weight off. I've never really known the feeling of being thin, or healthy. Though I may be losing weight, just to let many know, my diabetes will not go away. It's kinda like I am losing weight, just to add more days to my life. They way I was eating before, would of put me in a grave sooner than anyone would ever want. So let this be a wake up call. I am putting this out there to motivate YOU! It's never too late. Though you may take it slowly, you're still lapping everyone on the couch. Eat right and exercise, because you're meant to be here on earth for quite a while. Don't shorten your time. You can still enjoy many great and amazing foods that you've never tasted, that are actually really good for you. Keep up the good work, and stay in blubber busters because they certainly are a great website to help you to be fit and healthy. If anyone ever needs advice or anything, just let me know! :)
