I am ashamed of how big i let myself become. I was old enough then to make my own decisions and i couldn't blame my parents anymore. I am fourteen now. I weigh fifty seven kilos (125 lb.) and am 166cm (5'6") tall. I lost about 35kg (77 lb.) maybe more in just one year. I thought i would be fat for the rest of my life, i wanted to die. I proved to myself that anything is possible. I used to eat not only a lot of junk food but also large portions and just binge even when i wasn't hungry. Food was like a drug for me. Combine that with little education for whats good for you and little or no exercise and you have me. One defining moment of my weightloss jorney was seeing this book called the diet for teenags only by Carrie wiatt and barbara schroeder. IT CHANGED MY LIFE. i started running and walking and exercising and eating well. it was hard at first. and i didn't do it all at once, i eased into it. i never denied myself i just tried harder and it made all the difference in the world. I joined a gym that had a swimming pool and went swimming three times a week. A few weeks later the weight just started dropping off. I love my life now, my confidence is sky high and i now recognise myself in the mirror. The point of my story is to tell you, IT IS POSSIBLE, IF YOU SET YOUR MIND TO IT YOU CAN DO IT! From Mike, Age 16, male - 10/21/08 - IP#: 99.235.141.xxx Hey guys, i've been overweight my whole life, in grade 9 i was 5.4 and 205 pds, fat i know.. the summer going into grade 10 i decided to do something fr myself, stuck to a great diet and lost about 25 pouds but i also grew to about 5.5, from grade 10 to now i grew to 5.7 and started working out and i currently weight around 163 which is not bad, my goal is 155 which isnt hard at all. Just stay motivated, remember, hard work pays off.

All together thats like 200 Calories. I had a glass of water before and after I ate. Water fills you up, and makes you feel full. Same with poridge. I decided that writing everything down that I ate would be an easy way of keeping track. Then at the end of the day i would go back and see what I had. If something was written down that I shouldnt have had I would mark on the next page for the next day to remind me not to eat it again! For example if i had a cookie, i would right it on the next page. YODAY DONT EAT COOKIES! Then becuase of that my bad habits broke. I gave up soda, sweetened juices, chips, sweets, candy and fast food. I also avoid condiments such as ketchup and dressings becuase they have sugar in them. Which leads to fat! AND DONT EAT AFTER 7 PM. I DIDNT EAT AFTER 6 THOUGH**** If my mom made chicken and baked potatoes and salad. I would eat half the chicken, and the baked potato without the sour cream. And tons of salad, with light or half the dressing. By cutting your meals in half, you feel satisfied with yourself, and If you drink a large glass of water before supper you will get full faster. And when you are done if you drink a large glass you will feel fuller. The more water you drink the more waste you will get rid of. Your body will get rid off all the unessasary food, and fat and put it in the toilet. I hate exercising so I told myself I wasnt going to force exercising on myself. Dont make it too hard on yourself It will make you give up. BUT**** The first five days of cutting my meals in half, cutting out JUNK food, not eating sweets, drinking more water, and eating more fruits and veggies. and no pop, or baked sweets. I lost 6 pounds in 5 days. **** Make sure you drink water, LOTS, dont listen to the 8 glasses a day have like 12!, and eat breakfast, lunch and supper, but cut them in half, avoid condiments, and when you are hungry in between eat as much water containing fruit and veggies as possible, such as watermelon, celery, oranges, grapefruit etc.**** This food is low calorie and will keep you going throughout the day! Then week two went by and i lost 4 pounds, not as exciting as the first but still good. But I wasn't going to give up. Thats losing! Thats when I decided I was going to start exercising. ***i know right*** This was my plan. eat breakfast.. go to school (pack a good lunch, and lots off fruit and veggie snacks!) come home have a snack... then i would find a friend and go fo a walk for a half hour before supper everyday. Eat supper, and drink tons of water. then an hour after supper (only 3 times a week I did this on mon, wed, and fridays) i would go in my room put on some music, take a timer and dance for a half hour. I did jumping jacks etc. anything that would get my heart and me going! FINALLY! WEEK 3 -- -- RESULTS; 9 POUNDS!!!!!!! so all together in three weeks i lost 18 pounds!!!! week four i did the same thing but only lost 4 pounds, so one month total of 23 pounds!!! week 5 i kicked it up a bit; I ate breakfast lunch and supper, packed snacks for school (healthy ones of course.) Came home from school (but didnt eat any snacks. I waited for supper!) After school I would go in my room and dance for 15 minutes everyday. half our before supper i went for a half out walk everday. after supper i would wait a half hour. I would go in my room and dance for 30 mins. WEEK 5 RESULTS - - 7 POUNDS! WEEK 6 RESULTS - - I DID THE SAME THING - - 5 POUNDS! WEEK 7 RESULTS - - I DID THE SAME THING BUT MY HALF OUR WALKS BEFORE SUPPER WERE NOW ONE HOUR WALKS. - - 4 POUNDS WEEK 8 - - (SECOND MONTH) - - I DID THE SAME THING EXCEPT I DIDNT DANCE AFTER SUPPER. - - I LOST 4 POUNDS! MONTH TWO TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS! - - 20 POUNDS! TOTAL POUNDS IN 2 MONTHS!!!! 23 + 20 = 43 POUNDS. My goal is 125. i am at 137. But happy. I am thin, i am in a size 3 - 5. I wear small shirts and small sweaters, instead of med. or large! 12 more pounds to go. From Jocelyn, Age 17, female - 07/19/08 - IP#: 68.147.201.xxx In january i weighted 157 pounds but then my mom decided to go on weight watchers and i decided to go on with her because i wanted to be thinner. since then i have lost 27 pounds and now weigh 130 pounds I still want to lost another 5-10, but right now i am fairly happy with my weight. The trick to losing weight is just eating healthier foods and making good choices. Eat tons of fruits and veggies. Eat chicken and turkey instead of steak and ribs. Eat frozen yogurt instead of ice cream. No, you dont have to give up high fat foods completely in fact you are supposed to eat something high fat once a week because it gives your metabolism a kick. You can also make better choices when eating out with friends or at parties. If I go out with my friends to Denny's, I just have a milkshake or a drink or just get a salad instead of getting pancakes and sausages or something like that. I initially went on a diet to be thinner, but now i realize that it is more important to be healthy than it is to be thin.

I wieghed 172 and i am now 157 after 6 weeks. I did an hour on the tredmile with a high incline i ran and walked. also i did the aerobics class. and so that i wouldnt be all saggy i did the wieghts with two sets of 15. I did arms one day and legs the next and abs everyday.

I am not saying go out and get braces but trying to lose the food that you could do without and trashing it is helpful. I used to just sit and watch TV but now when iwatch it i'll sit on the floor and like strtch while im doing it! My parents tell me i can't stay still anymore LOL!! And it is totally true! I will always go out and jump on my trampoline or go for a bike ride or practice my cheers for my squad and sometimes i'll practice my soccer but i do enough of that! So I decided to go on the special k diet. Every day in the mornings I would eat a bowl of special k cereal with fresh cut up strawberries. When lunch came around I would eat one of the new special k meal bars, they come in double chocolate and peanut butter.I ate an apple with it also. I have to make sure I eat something healthy with the bars, because they are not enough food for a growing girl.At dinner I would eat a heathy meal like salad and a sandwich and eat a tiny dessert with it. I would drink milk and water with my meals.I weighed 152lbs and know I weigh 127lbs. So I am very happy.I want to be 120lbs but my mom is afraid I will go crazy with the diet so I am staying at 127lbs by exercising.
