Before you post a reply saying that you are overweight or that you want to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator . If the calculator says that you are healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that you are overweight or that you want to lose weight. This offends the kids who really are overweight. Message Replying To From DancingDamsel, Age 13 Ht. 5'3", Start: 175.8 lb, Today: 164 lb, Goal: 160 lb - EVERYTHING ANYONE NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT 30 DAY SHRED: I thought since so many people are trying it, and I've been doing it for 11 days. Firstly: The 30 day shred is a 20 minute workout designed by Jillian Michaels, trainer on the Biggest Loser. Why she's so great: Every single winner on the Biggest Loser has been trained by her, not Bob __ the other trainer. Now, the 30 day shred is divided into 3 levels. You do level 1 for 10 days (ideally, if it takes you longer to be able to do it in full for a few days, keep going. If it's too easy after a few days, move on), level 2 for 10 days, and level 3 for 10 days. In each level, there are three circuits. In each circuit, there are 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs. The way that the circuits/workout are designed, you do two different exercises, let's say, for strength and then repeat them to complete your 3 minutes. The exception is in level 1 when, for the last session of cardio, you do all the exercises you did in the workout. (4 different exercises.) Also, abs is usually 1-2 exercises just for those of you who are groaning. ^_^ Next, the video claims that you can lose "Up to 20 pounds in 30 days!" Now, I can't really give this a thumbs up or a thumbs down because I haven't done the full 30 days. As I am on day 11 (I only did 5 days of level 1), I could tell you how much I've lost--that is, if my scale wasn't broken. But, in the first 5 days of doing level 1 (and about 1-2 days to let my muscles settle down), I lost (listen to this) 3 POUNDS. THREE (3) POUNDS IN FIVE (5) DAYS. :-) Hmm...any other questions? Oh, for those of you who think you can handle level 2 since you, for example, run everyday for extended periods or train for marathons, etc. do not think that way. Definitely start on level 1. OH. I have one more important thing to say: Level 1, I realized yesterday after trying it to see if it was any easier, is much, MUCH, heavier on cardio than Level 2. Ok? I think that this is because you'll lose more weight in the first 10 days so you'll stick with the program. *_* Ok, guys, if you have any questions: just comment or post something if you have a lot of questions. :-) Good luck. BTW, sorry lol, on Youtube look up: "Jillian Michaels level 1 part 1." Now, what I do is use Internet Explorer and put each part on different tabs so my heart rate doesn't go down while I'm waiting for each part to load. Also, there are no "rest days." It is 30 DAY SHRED. You do it for 30 days-straight. If you work out at the same time every day, let's say evening, here's an example of why you don't need a "rest day": Let's say I work out in the evening at 6:00pm. Then, I go to bed. Then, I go through my WHOLEEEE day again. Then, at 6:00pm, I work out again. My body had 24 whole hours to recuperate. The same goes for working out in the morning. K? Right, now, I'm done. ^_^ Good luck with your weight loss! |
