Ht. 5'6", Start: 165 lb, Today: 152 lb, Goal: 118 lb - Hey! So, I have a sort of a dilemma. I really want to lose weight (obviously :) because I healthy and look absolutely FAB. I have been a competitive swimmer most of my life and sadly I don't have a swimmer's body and I think that this is hurting my performance. I also hate not being able to wear cute clothes. I hate how they put the tiny sizes on the front side of the clothing rack and then the larger on the back and the small ones look cute but when they make them bigger they don't look right and when I try them on I hate how they look(btw I wear a size 9/10). Anyway, my problem is that I don't really know what my goal weight should be because I talked to my doc and he said my bmi was almost healthy and I just just stay the same weight and "grow into it" but I don't think I'll ever be much taller. He said that I was also very muscular because of swimming (which is somewhat true and I have developed very broad shoulders which are a nightmare for jacket shopping) so he recommended measuring my body fat percentage. I did that at the fitness I go to with this little machine thing and it said my body fat is 26%. That seems really high to me! So how much weight do you think I should lose to look awesome for school and to be able to be confident in a bikini(which I have worn only once in my life :(? Also I want a life guarding job next year and my current figure won't help me with that very much. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks :)
