No offense to anyone who uses it, but the Atkin's diet is an unwise choice. It works to get the pounds off quickly, but since it's an all-protein diet, it can only be used temporarily. You can't live on just protein, and actually too much protein can be harmful. So then, once you have lost the weight and stopped doing the Atkin's diet, the weight comes back on quicker than you lost it, because it's such a dramatic change in your body's chemistry. Believe me, I saw it happen to a lot of people in my family. Also, eating lots of fat and protein on the Atkin's diet can raise your cholesterol, which is bad.
