Before you post a reply saying that you are overweight or that you want to lose weight, please first check our Weight Calculator . If the calculator says that you are healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that you are overweight or that you want to lose weight. This offends the kids who really are overweight. Thanks a lot. |
Message Replying To From Crystal, Age 17 Ht. n/a, Wt. n/a - I have been on this website before (not much tho) but have just been recently coming back and have noticed some changes. Looking back at the last few pages I mostly see things about losing 10 lbs in a week or fast weight loss and about some fad diets. It is not healthy to lose more than 1-2 lbs a week. In some cases it is okay, like the first two weeks of ur diet because it is usually water weight, or maybe when you make a drastic change in ur diet. Plus, fast weight loss usually doesnt stay off; it comes right back on. Another thing is talk about slim fast, the special k diet, and diet pills. For slim fast--instead of drinking a 200 calorie shake, wouldnt it be more filling to eat something equivalent to those 200 calories? And the Special K diet? It would just be plain boring to eat cereal everyday for lunch and breakfast (my opinion). Plus, are you even getting all your veggies and fruits in w/ these fad diets? probably not. These fad diets DO NOT help you learn how to eat sensible and balance your diet. Most people gain their weight back. I have also heard about diet pills. These are illegal for our age. It is not to be used on people still growing. Plus these pills have a lot of side effects and one of them is death. I find that no one really needs them to lose weight. It even says on most of them that it is highly recommended that you eat sensibly and exercise. You can do those w/o diet pills and still lose weight. Eating healthy balanced meals and exercise still prevails. This is by far the BEST way to lose weight AND keep it off. |
