Message Replying To From Anna, Age 18 Ht. 5'4, Wt. 155 - Hey everyone!! I have been dieting on and off since the end of my freshmen year in high school. My first diet was the summer before my sophomore year and everyday I would walk, I was a majorette so I burned a lot of calories during practice. I didn't really think I had lost too much weight but when I went back to school everyone kept telling me how thin I was! I couldn't believe it because I hadn't really even noticed since I wasn't weighing myself and I had a VERY distorted image of my body. I was around 120 lbs. then and I loved being skinny so I started to go in a downward spiral. I was taking diet pills, I was OBSESSED with not eating, and I would make myself feel horrible if I eat anything. I slowly started to gain the weight back after I got a car and all my friends got their licenses so I never walked anywhere. Anyways, I stopped caring about myself for awhile and I got into drinking, because that's what everyone did on the weekends. Drinking beer definitely took it's poll and the weight kept gathering. I decided to take control of my life again about a month ago. I've been dieting, not so much exercising though at all. My dieting has been incredible the past 3 weeks, and I started doing my pilates tape that I used to love!! The past week, I've been waking up early and riding our exercise bike for 20 minutes. I find it's a lot easier to stay on the bike if you read a book, or even listen to music. I bought two new exercise tapes from Walmart.. Denise Austin Pilates For Every Body ( Pilates used with a resistance band. ) and I got Denise Austin Power Yoga and Pilates ( You use 3-5 pound weights during it so you are burning fat and strengthening and lengthening your muscles!!) I love Denise Austin tapes, she is SO amazing. My mom had one from back in like 1995 and it's still AWESOME! So if you use it 3 times a week, it said you will see great results in 3 weeks. I will definitely keep you guys posted on how the tapes are working. The diet that I've found works the best for me, is low carb. I'm basically doing low carb right now, I eat a lot of meats and cheeses, broccoli, asparagus, but I eat some fruits too so I'm not exactly following it perfect!! I have been taking Xenadrine (diet pill), it curbs your appetite ALOT but I wouldn't take them unless you clear it with your parents. I keep a weight loss diary, and I write EVERYTHING that I eat in it.. even if it's just 3 chips. I think it would be a good idea if everyone started posting everything that they ate. It really makes you look back and see what things you need to cut out of your diet!! Also, write down all of your favorite snacks and bad food. Once a week if you've done good on it you should let yourself have a small portion of it! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! sorry if this was kinda long!!! |
