~ BROOKE'S STORY ~
Hey
everyone, My name is Brooke and I joined blubberbuster to try and help
give advice to people who wanted it. When I was in 5th grade at the age
of about 11 years old I was really overweight. I weighed 225 pounds and
was a size 22. I hated always getting picked on at school for being
overweight so I decided to take action. At the end of 7th grade I went
on a diet. I got rid of all the junk food in my diet, like little debbies and soda. I replaced all that with fruit and salad. In about 4
months time I lost a total of 45 pounds by riding my bike daily, doing
pushups/sit ups and just eating healthy! For breakfast I'd eat cereal
cause It's prooven that it helps teen girls stay slim, lunch I'd have a
sandwich with a bottle of water, at dinner I'd have chicken or a salad.
Now this may not seem like alot of food and your probably wondering if I
was hungry inbetween meals and some days I would be so I would have a
fat free yogurt or a piece of fruit. I had my mom stock up on lots of
fruit and healthy foods.
So far today I am now 14 years old and I weigh 180 pounds. I'm a 15 in
juniors and couldn't be more happy. I'm still eating healthy and hopeing
to loose 20 more pounds by April for my Florida trip. I know I can do it
if I keep my mind set on the goal and eat healthy. If you depribe your
body of food your metabalism goes into starvation mode and slows down it
was prooven. The reason I say that is cause I tried that but I learned
that starving yourself and crash dieting isan't good for you at all and
it acutally makes you loose weight slower then faster. So if you're
thinking of starveing yourself re-think it cause it actually makes more
havic then what it's worth.
It takes alot of work to loose weight but anyone can do it. Just believe
in yourself. I had alot of people helping me through it and I want to
thank my mom expesically for her support without her I don't think I
would have made it this far. Good luck to anyone who wants to loose
weight just keep your mind on the goal and remember you can make it!!!
Since I wrote this story I have lost another
11 pounds and went down 2 more sizes. I am now 169 lb and an 11 in juniors and
still going!! I have also included a newer pic of me since the new year
(on right). Thanks everyone for reading my story!
