Eating Out with Friends
So
you have been trying to eat healthy and your friends want to go hang out on
a Friday night. Sometimes the night ends up at a local fast food or pizza
place. So what are you going to do? Not go out? Not eat any of the food?
There is no reason you can not go out and have fun with your friends. Here
are some helpful tips:

If you and your friends usually go to the same place, think about what you
may want to eat ahead of time.

Try and order your food first. After placing your order it will be less
likely you will change your mind after listening to other people's menu
choices.

If you know you are going to go out, be extra careful about what you eat
earlier that day.

Suggest trying a new place to your friends. Look for a place that will have
healthier food choices.

Talk to a close friend you trust. Let them know you want to go and hang out
with everyone but you don't want to be tempted with unhealthy food. If they
know how you feel, they will be more likely to "back you up" and will go
along with the suggestion of trying somewhere new.

Just remember to make the best decision when choosing foods when eating out,
use portion control and be aware of how you feel.
