hi i am 5'1 and 128 pounds.I want to loose 13-15 pounds and want to loose it by christmas giving me about for weeks to loose the wieght.i am going to eat only salad for meals and become a vegitarian.evry morning i will walk for two hours and later at night i willl dance for an hour.please can any body tell me if iit is possible to loose that amout of weight in that time.And i was wondering if anyone needs a buddy.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to say that I will be starting my diet tomorrow, Monday, September 30, 2002. I am just getting started. My mom went on-line to try and get me motivated to loose some weight. I am about 5 ft 2 and I weigh 155 lbs. I realize I am overweight. I wanted to let you know that I was starting my diet program thanks to all of the inspirational stories that I have read on the website. I did write down some of your e-mail addresses and will be e-mailing you for inspiration and motivation. Please e-mail me with any advise on how to eat, what to eat, what kind of exercises work the best, and anything else you can think of that I may need. I just wanted to post here and say how I was doing since I haven't in a while, and I'm usually here answering questions and all. Right now I'm 5'2", 144 pounds (the best I have been, yeah!) and feeling great. I made the tennis team and practice is 2 hours long, so I get 6-10 hours of exercise a week which is great. It keeps me busy so that I don't eat, because I'm prone to eating a lot in the morning, I don't know why, and it gets me a ton of exercise which feels great. I've been on this board for so long, since January 2000, I believe. When I first came here I was 5'1" and around (give or take 5 pounds)170 pounds. I hope that gave you people some reason to stick around, this is a VERY helpful sight. Good luck to all of you. We are all here to help you.

One of my short term reasons is highschool, and I'm going on a cruise to the bahamas. So I really want to wear a bikini. Plus, I want to weigh less than my mum...she went on a diet and now I weigh more than her. Also, just because I want to change. I keep a pair of my old size 8 jeans hanging on my closet, just a reminder. And If i "need" something to snack on, i go for veggies, or low fat whip cream;-P

I'm about to enter high school and I weigh 135 pounds. I really can't stand my weight. I don't eat very healthily but recently I've been wanting to lose weight. Does anyone have ANY tips for me? I have no self control and I really want to lose weight by the time I enter high school. My abdomins are looking huge and I get really deppressed when I go shopping with my mom. I'm also really short so I never fit into anything. I'm pretty athletic but I can't stand hanging with all these perfect girls who fit in a size 2, it makes me so sad. Some of you are writing about how your weight loss programs have been going. I smiled because I'm so amazed by you. Proportion wise, I'm not doing good. So please, please, I need some tips on losing weight! Does anyone have a good diet and excersize plan that they could share with me?(I feel guilty because I'm asking for so much. So here's my tip for everyone else: Eat rice puffs for a snack if you're super hungry. They're sort of like water in a food substance and they're only 50 calories for one cup which takes a really long time. Unfourtunatly they taste HORRIBLE! I've gotten used to them, but if you can't try Quakes. Quakes are these rice chips and for 1 serving there's only seventy calories and believe me, they are DELICIOUS! Also, while eating dinner, put your fork down after taking a bite. It takes much longer to eat helping you eat less.)So... any advice?

maybe you could set up a reward system. my friend and i used to always eat heaps of junky crap from the canteen at school, like donuts, ice cream, you know the stuff. and it adds up to about $3/week out of our pocket money. we decided that if we dont buy a single thing from the tuckshop, the money we'd save would go towards us going to a theme park in the holidays that are coming up. it works really well, and it helps if you have a friend for encouragment. so maybe you could set up a reward system at home, like fruit for dessert, and well, whatever you want, you can make it as strict as you like, then say, you get a new piece of clothing or shoes or jewellery, or whatever takes your fancy, if you stick to that diet for however long you want to make it. it all depends on what your diet is like now. you cant expect to go from unhealthy to healthy in one day, thats why you choose the amounts of food and the time limit. good luck, keep me posted

I was doing good, but i needed to get back on track. i stayed the same until January 2002 and by then i had decided to go for my original goal of 130 pounds. I am currently at 148 pounds, 5 foot 2 inches, and a size 12/13 juniors. I am still pretty far away, but i have come so far. I use to tell myself, if only i could be 150 pounds, i could be perfect. Now it has become 130, but when i get there, i'll stop this time. I hope i will never be above 150 pounds again. These last few pounds have been so hard, i became obsessive for a while, but decided it wasn't worth it. I hope this will help you overcome those bad days, cause i had a lot of them, but i know the good days are ahead, waiting for me. Good luck to all of you. I WIEGH 135 LBS!!!! its amazing, a wieght i thought that id never reach, but here i am, after weighing in at 175 as a child, and 155 as of last year. I decided enough was enough, all junk food for me was completely cut out, the only drink i would have is water, and i did the treadmill for an hour a day, and kickboxing three times a week, 135 lbs, i still can't believe it, im soo close to my dream goal of 120, if i could do it, so can you. Lately I have gained an enormous amount of weight and I want to lose it.I have become depressed because of this and getting really self-concious. I want to lose around 20-26 pounds. I think it would be easier on me if I had somebody who wants to loose weight also and sort of help eachoter instead of going through all of it alone .Maybe motivate eachother and kind of stop eachother from falling into some certain temptations like chocolate or anything like that. I have an exercise bike in my room and when I get so tired I don't think I can pedal anymore I look up and see inspiration. LOL okay dorky or not this works: Think of all the reasons why you want to loose weight. Think of everything good that can come of it, and everything bad that goes on now. Make lists. On big posters in marker. (hehe pictures work also cuz let me tell you, I dont really feel like reading when I'm about to pass out.) Keep a journal of your feelings of success and failure, and the reasons why you want to loose weight. When you feel those cravings for junk food, or you want to just skip the work out, write in the journal for a few min. and you will find yourself motivated. For example, I hate, HATE walking on a treadmill staring at a wall, so now I get up early in the morning and jog with my dog.
