Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 169 lb (BMI: 26), Goal: 160 lb - okay so I've come to the sad realization that no one really posts on here anymore. Not to mention, no one really posts on other peoples posts. Kinda lame, don't you think? Anyway, I don't really care about that because I'm going to post on here everyday anyways as kind of a... way to keep track of how I'm doing. It's easy to lie to yourself and say you did okay when you really didn't, so here I'll fess up to what I've done wrong and what not. I got down to 165 like 2 weeks ago but with PMS comes the munchies and weight gain, as usual. Seriously, I need to stop this "5 pounds up, 5 pounds down" cycle. I've been doing it for months. I want to get under 165 and stay there and keep going down for once. My first goal is 160.. from there 155, then 150, and possibly 145 if i'm not small enough at 150. (It's too early to tell). Hopefully I can stick with this. I've gotten back into the habit of writing down everything I eat, so hopefully that will hold me accountable for any loss or non-loss lol Hope everyones doing great, and come on people lets get posting!! lol

I know what you mean, its sooo hard to stay motivated. What i do, is i think of someone i want to impress, or an event in the near future that i want to look good for, or to piss off someone who made a rude comment about your weight or something. Use those feelings as motivation. Focus all your energy on that goal. If you want to lose 10 pounds before a party, to impress your friends or prove to them you CAN and WILL do this, use that as your motivator. Its not always easy.. actually its never easy lol but you can do it :)

I just cant seem to be motivated enough to eat right and exercise =/ I think what I need is someone to help and motivate me. My dad and sister think I'm the "perfect" weight, and aren't taking my size into consideration. I still don't remember how I lost those 13 pounds in a few months a year or two ago. I'd love to lose the fat on my thighs, a bit off my arms, and the rest off my stomach. UGH! I hate not having the motivation >.<

Do what I do, whenever you feel very unmotivated and like you will never get there and just want to give up, go online and Google search "weight loss success stories". They are so inspiring. Some people have lost over 100 pounds... it really makes you think, if they can lose over 100, surely I can lose 10, 20, etc. Some of them even have before and after pictures which are super motivating. Don't give up, you're strong. You can have whatever you want in life you just have to want it badly enough. Good luck!

Ht. 5'3", Start: 190 lb, Today: 245 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 140 lb - Hi, it's Zac. I've tried to lose weight but keep gaining. My friends aren't bothered about me being fat, even though most of them are thin. The call be blubber boy in a joking way, and always squeeze my flab. I want to lose weight by would be embarrest because after school we always go to McDonalds and see how much each of us can eat. They'd think I'm weird if I don't eat anything. After I usually eat about 4 chocolate bars and some other stuff. I have about 6 fat rolls and aren't too bothered that I'm fat, I'm just wondering if I should try to lose weight. When we go swimming my belly hangs over my trunks, but I'm not too bothered. My friends never want me to wear my top in P.E., and I quite like it when I see my flab giggling. Should I still try to lose weight? I love junk food, and feel really good when I stuff myself. Has anyone got any comments, or should I just carry on gaining? My family doesn't care really.

Ht. 4'11", Start: 136 lb, Today: 134 lb (BMI %tile: 96), Goal: 110 lb - I am very scared to go into 7th grade. The reason is that i am overweight. Actually, OBESE! I have started a detox that is really good for the liver, heart, and bladder. It washes out the fat and leaves me feeling good about my self. I noticed my skin looks and feels better. I have more energy too! I really want to lose at least one or two more pounds before school. I'm pretty sure i can. I exercise daily. I go on a walk once a day, And swim 20 laps in the pool. Or sometimes I do yoga, and then i do like 100 jumping jacks. I even walk up and down the stairs for about 15 minutes. The thing that i need most is motivation. I need support. So if you have any tips I WOULD LOVE THEM!

Ht. 5'2", Start: 206 lb, Today: 174 lb (BMI %tile: 95), Goal: 130 lb - Ok well in December I was weighed at the doctors at 206lbs, after my first semester of college. Then in February I got very sick, I couldn't eat and hold it down, and if by some miracle I did, I still ended up sick in another way (I know tmi),, my doctors never did figure out what was wrong with me, and i dropped 30lbs. I don't have many cravings.. except for when I get hungry at work.. I work at mcdonalds... I have finally realized that I need to bring my own food to work, after 3 years there... My problem is exercising I move back to school in 2 weeks and I will have the use of the gym, but I keep making up excuses to work out before then, and I know when I get back I will be too tired, and too lazy... what is a good motivational tip

Ht. 5'3", Start: 245 lb, Today: 225 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 118 lb - Hey ppls. Here's some great motivational stuff!!! * Start VERY small! If you can't exercise for 30 minutes, or 20...start with 5, or 2 minutes. * Break a big goal into small ones. If your goal is to lose 10 lbs, focus on losing 1 lbs every two weeks. * Post your goal where you will see it. * Tell someone your goal--parent, friend, and ask them to check in to make sure you're working on it. * Visualize yourself as if you've already achieved goal: Do this at least twice a day. * Stay away from negative people--those who think you can't achieve your goal. * Don't give up if you lose your motivation for a day or even more. No-one is perfect, not even you! Just start again and keep going--you'll do great!

Unfortunately, I attended a buffet at a chinese restaurant today, as a celebration, so haven't eaten very well :( other than the chinese food, I've only eaten veggies and I went to the gym earlier, but I still feel guilty, I'll have to get back on track tomorrow. My short term goal weight is 190 pounds, which I hope to reach in 3 weeks. How is everyone else doing?

Ht. 5'4", Start: 173 lb, Today: 173 lb (BMI %tile: 96), Goal: 130 lb - It's long but bear with me :) I wanted to discuss with you guys if you feel people are hypocrital. My parents are CONSTANTLY telling me not to eat too much, and to exercise more and to eat healthier...but I watch them and their overweight, they don't eat healthy, they don't buy healthy stuff and well I don't think it's very encouraging and it doesn't really make me appreciate my parents at all. It just makes me dislike them because they aren't encouraging me or helping me at all. I know my mom wants to lose weight desperately and I know she's been really unhappy for a long time with herself but I feel like her low self confidence has caused me and my older sister to be heavier. My brothers are athletic so I dont know what happened to me and my sis. I hate it because my mom constantly is talking about losing weight, every year her new year's resolution is to lose weight, but she never puts in the motivation to exercise or stay dedicated to it. and now because of her example i am the same way. i can be motivated but that doesn't mean i'll be dedicated about weight loss. so what i want is advice. i want to know how i can stay motivated and dedicated to lose weight even though my family is not helping or encouraging me in anyway way ??

Advice? I think that since you are not getting the support you want (but don't need though it would make life a heck of a lot easier) from your parents, you need to support and encourage yourself. If you have AOL, put little reminders for yourself on the Events so that you will be encouraged a bit every day. Or, buy a bulletin board. Or, put Post-its on your desk (Nothing Tastes As Good As Thin Feels, You're Too Far Along To Take Orders From A Cookie, Keep Going, Just Do It, Go Walking, Don't Be A Couch POTATO, etc, etc.) Just encourage yourself any way you possibly can. Or, involve your friends (I'm assuming you have friends, right?). Tell them about your goals and they won't let you back down when you're not in the mood to work out, or feeling upset, or feeling unmotivated, or whatever. BOTTOM LINE: You don't need parents to encourage you when you're losing weight: you need motivation, determination, dedication, and confidence-ation. ;) Good luck and keep us posted, Melissa!

trust me, we all go through it. what i do to motivate myself is i take a look at some old pictures of myself when i was bigger, and know that if i dont smarten up i could fall back into bad habits. i also google search some inspirational weight loss success stories (the before and after pictures really make it motivating) so try some of that. otherwise, itll come in time. i go through stages where i dont care anymore, then randomly ill be so motivated its crazy. hope i helped :)

for me i weigh once a week. Here's why a) if you weigh yourself everyday and look at the scale and are like WOW I GAINED A POUND. see your weight varies from day to day. And that pound is more of less from water. So by weighing yourself only ONCE a week then you can see you progress for the whole week and it's more of an acurate thing b) if you do gain a 'water' pound you'll be really down. ANd you'll lose motivation. Honestly that's how i got out of control was looking everday and seeing the same or more of a gain. Today when i saw i finally got below 145 and i haven't been below that in like a year so it's really big. I SCREAMED! so i think that if you'll weight once a week you'll keep more motivated. And think thoughts like 'Kay so i weigh on sunday- i really should work hard and i'll see what i want' things like that- stay positve!

Honestly, I'm only saying this because I care about you and want you to lose weight. It seems all your posts seem somewhat negative. First you say you're going to stop eating because you hate being fat. You "hate yourself" because you ate too much one day. And being negative and trying dangerous things isn't going to help at all, I promise you. You need to get a serious mind set and talk to your parents, your doctor, and anyone else who could help you, so they can be on the same page and tell you what is okay to do and what could potentially harm you. And being so negative won't help either. Despite popular belief, hating yourself is not a way to drive yourself to change. It will only drive you in to depression, and ruin your self-esteem.
