Ht. 5'3", Start: 162 lb, Today: 157 lb (BMI %tile: 94), Goal: 118 lb - This Saturday is going to be tempting me... There is going to be a lot of food there at my niece's 3 brithday party... I mean I have to eat to live, but not to much that I gain the weight back, I have srank a size down in Juniours now Im a L, instead of xxl... nope I only have two sizes to go to be in Juniours s!!!! That would be awsome and would be easier to find clothes in the Juniours, I wear kids plus, that is the only sizes I can wear, because of my bulit in body, I want to 118 pounds by August!!!! that is my goal right, now!! I know that is pretty crazy.. I only get grilled chicken I take the skin off and give it to my dog or throw away in the trash... What I mean is I eat less, I dont eat large portions of food anymore, I only eat small portions. I dont drink much soda, I drink soda If I get a really bad minegrain... I drink more water now, Orange juice, Strawberries.. I eat furit, not too much junk.. We need to only take small portions. Not large ones.. I hope to have helped. Jessica 15

Many people don't think so but soda can be addicting. If you go a while after not drinking soda (if you regularly drink it) then that migrain you get could be a sign of withdrawls, especially if you drink caffeinated drinks. The headaches tend to stop after a week. I don't drink soda anymore. The phosphuric acid in it robs your bones of calcium, so I decided to quit drinking it because I know that my teenage years are the best time to build up strength in my bones. You can do it! 20lbs may be a little ambitious but it's not impossible. Having a cheat meal is a great idea (as long as you don't go overboard of course!). Try exploring new foods that taste great but are healthy - it might help you get through your rough patch. One of the main ways I motivate myself (and it seems to work) is by setting very small goals (2lbs a week) and taking things one day at a time. Something I often think to myself when I'm about to make a poor choice is, "is it worth it?". The answer always ends up being no. I think about how lousy I'll feel after I eat the unhealthy thing and then I think about how much more important it is to me to lose the weight. Good luck & keep it up! :)

Ht. 5'0", Start: 98 lb, Today: 142 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 89 lb - I have always been kinny but have always loved food. My favurite foods are fast food: mcdonalds, wendys and kfc. I used to try not to eat whatever I felt like but for the past 6 months I have been indulging every night after school I go into mcdonalds and order a quarter pounder and large fries or sometimes a big mac. I am eating about 6 packets of potato chips a day and they taste awesome but I dont look awesome. I dont want to end up like my mom who is about 400 pounds and dead overweight. I am starting to get a massive belly that sticks out like hers and loads of rolls of fat. help me before its too late and i am as fat as my mom

Hope no one minds me visiting from the teen boards.... I started off on this side of the site 4 years ago! I was also raised on McDonalds and KFC and all that good stuff. Now I can't stand the sight of most of them. It may help to have really negative associations with these places. Eat a Big Mac while staring at a picture of a dirty toilet or having fried chicken while looking at cockroaches. I ended up having to do something similar to break my addiction. (And I'm down 30 pounds from my highest weight!)

Hi...I had the same problem, but then the more I exercised or replaced exercising with hunger it worked. Or if I told myself no i'm not going to eat that dounut eventually it got easier and easier to say no. Trust me it works...but stick to it!

I have tried so many times before to lose the weight and nothing has worked but this time I'm gonna do my best because I'm putting my health badly at risk by being this big. I'm not too close to my family so I'm going to need all the help and support I can get from you lot. I know I need to exercise but I love to eat, even when I'm not hungry I eat. Theres no one here to stop me from doing it and once I start eating I just want more and more! Food is a total addiction to me, how do I stop it??? any help would be great thanx!

Well congrats on realizing you want a change and joining us here =] Yes, weightloss can be a struggle, but it pays off in the end. I ,too, like most of us on here have an "addiction" to food. Try saying to yourself, "I know what this already tastes like" or "It's not like it's never going to be there again...i can have it another time". these seem to help me out. Also, the carbonated, flavored waters keep my appetite down, plus help me get my water needs in! Hope this helps, and good luck on ur journey...im rooting for you!!

OMG Im sooo happy yesturday I had a movie night at school and there was pizza and all the baked goods you can imagine... I had some salad and a meal bar!!! I fit into my jeans that I couldnt wear since like november!Its been almost two weeks since I started my diet but it feel like forever... but I dont really have really bad cravings for junk food anymore whichc is really good!

Alright I know I'm not a teen but I was here when the board was 11+ so I'm just used to coming here plus alot of the people on the Pre-teen are kinda immature sooo thats why I'm here not there. Anyway...I need some advice because I want to lose weight and its not that I'm not motivated but most of my friends are skinny and they eat junk food, they don't eat alot but when they do its junkfood so thats when I'm with them like at a sleepover or lunch during school so I eat junkfood too. Its really hard to sit there eating salad with low fat dressing while they are all eating chips and drinking Snapple! Me and my friend Nicole said that we would go on a diet together because she wants to lose some weight too. I want to be able to go shopping with them next summer for bathingsuits and new school clothes and stuff instead of making up exscuses like I did last year becuase all of them wear Juniors and I don't I ahve to wear Womens clothes. ray ray ray!!! lol.. me an u been here like f9rom the beginning.. in australia its summer break now.. i got a job working at a health club thing.. the doc there is soo smart an shes been teaching me stuff bout getting a healthy weihgt .. heres wat i learned from her.., ok,, most ppl specially u n me get real comfort and soothin from food specially junk food. . so its like the hardest thing in the hole world to resist it cuz we r like soo used to doin it an its a habit frum our hole life cuz it makes u feel better for a minute but then u feel bad agian. . what u gotta do is break the habit by learning to eat only small amounts of whaterver it is.. . if u r with ur mates just take some of wat theyr having an u eat some an just put the rest away like in ur pocket for later. . an the doc says look for fun stuff to soothe urself like i got into cricket and photography and scuba(got fins amd... Thanx for the advice henry. The only problem is that my mind is always on food. I play with my dog and I want to eat. I talk to my friends and I want to eat. I run around the block and I want to eat. I mean, it just seems like food is occupying my life. It's always there, calling "Cody!! Come eat us!!!!" I try to resist it, but then I end up pigging out!! I hate it. No matter how hard I try or what diet I am on, I find a way to pig out. It really sux. If this keeps going like this, Im gonna see a doctor. Thanx again henry for the advice! cody, u r hooked on food!! food has become ur enemy, .. . food is controling u, not the other way round... . and it can shorten ur life cuz u can get bad diseases.. u gotta fight it mate.. . get help from ur docter or ur shcool counselor... . and if u see food in fromt of u, get away from it (except wat u need to live on like healthy stuff like protien and fruits and vegetables).. . get urself outside, go hiking w/ ur dog or ur mates, ride ur bike, walk to school... . cut down wat u eat like in little baby steps,, practice like putting one cookie in front of u and cut it in half and eat only half of and put rest back til next day then walk away.. find fun stuff to do so u wont be near food or think bout it (like i do roller bladin, sports, projects).. . u r gonna feel antsy for a while, like coming off a drug u r addicted to,, read the tips on this site.. ur friends here will help../ ok,, its ur life cody,, . dont waste it on silly food.,, later mate...

what you should do is eat sweet things but make them lower in calories then the things you're eating now. like get some berries and have whip cream woith them instead of ice cream or get a fruit popsicle. just eat better things if you can't control yourself now and work on controling yourself slowly while also learning how to shave off calories. go shopping with your mothe5r and pick out the things with lower calories and substitute that with what you usually eat.
