Heres some good tips: DO NOT EAT MCDONALD'S. Trust me, google whats in their chicken nuggets and youll puke. Also eat every 3-4 hours so you wont overeat. Dont eat after 8:30, it messes with your digestion. Ask your parents to make an appointment with your nutritionist or doctor and ask them for help on how to lose weight healthily. DONT make yourself throw up or starve yourself-it does just the opposite. Do excersizes you WANT to do. If you hate sit-ups dont say "Im gonna do 400 situps a day!!" because you wont. Try to do excersize 4/7 days a week and slowly work yourself up. Also studies show that having a partner helps people lose weight so find a partner on this website if your family wont help. For motivation, think about proving all the people who laughed at you and judged you wrong when you finally do it. Its hard work but you can definitely do it!!!

It may be helpful for those of you who are trying to lose weight to record your measurements rather than simply rely on a scale. I would get very discouraged when I would step onto my bathroom scale and the numbers wouldn't budge. Once I started taking my measurements using a measuring tape I could see the inches drop even when the number on the scale would remain the same. I was able to see that I was losing fat, but I was also gaining muscle. My added muscle was the reason the numbers stayed the same for so long. I have only lost 12 pounds since January, but that does not tell the entire story. Using my measurements I can calculate that I have went from 42% body fat to 26% body fat. This means I have changed 29 pounds on my body. I have lost 12 pounds of fat and gained 17 pounds of muscle! Any ways, I ... Start by making small changes, that's how habits are formed. You won't need to think positively about something once it's become second nature to you. You said it's only been three weeks since you've started, it's no wonder it's been so difficult. All I can suggest is that you try to keep your head up and push past your challenges. It will be hard, but each day it will get a little bit easier. As long as you can get past the days that are especially difficult for you then you will make it and you will be healthier for it. Supposedly it takes about a month or so before a habit is formed. Start with small changes, and gradually increase them. It won't be so daunting that way. I used to tell myself, "I'll start my diet on Monday" and then I'd binge all weekend until Monday hit. I'd work so hard all week trying to do everything... I didn't truly find success until I paced myself and started small. Now those small changes are adding up and making huge differences! Sorry for typing so much. For one, it is awesome that you realize the bad habit and are wanting to change your life. I myself was in the same position as you for so long and at my heaviest in January i was 350lbs. Count calories religiously. I know trust me it gets annoying and it is time consuming, but you have to. The second big thing I have learned is eat protein first! get as much protein in as you can a day, because it helps to burn fat quicker and builds muscle which burns more fat. Also, do not get discouraged necessarilly about the pounds on the scale. You should measure yourself and go off of inches lost more than pounds. REACH FOR YOUR CELL If you want to hang out with friends and you call them walk around a little while your on the phone with them. I pace naturally while talking on the phone. It helps with the exercising 6. EAT A BIG, BALANCED BREAKFAST An a.m. meal made up mostly of carbs and protein with some fat keeps blood-sugar levels steady and hunger pangs away so you're not susceptible to pigging out come lunch, studies show. Opt for something satisfying for your stomach and taste buds — like egg whites and turkey bacon with whole-wheat toast. 7. HAVE FRUIT TWICE A DAY Fruit has no fat and is mostly water, so it'll fill you up while leaving less room on your plate (and in your stomach) for high-cal fare. Don't freak about fruit's carb count — we're talking the good kind of carbohydrates that contain lots of healthy fiber. 8. STAY ASLEEP LONGER Getting to bed just 30 minutes earlier and waking up 30 minutes later than you normally do can help you make better food choices, because your well rested. Also, when you're well-rested, you're less prone to snacking out of fatigue or stress. 9. VISUALIZE YOURSELF THIN When you feel your willpower breaking, conjure up a mental picture of yourself when you look and feel slim. The visual motivation keeps you focused on your goal weight. I have a pair of stretchy jeans, size 13 and I cannot button them on top of my humongous tummmy. Therefor I button it under and it gives me one large muffin top. It hangs over my pants alot. It also hangs out of my shorts. I have a physical coming up shortly and Im very nervous of stepping on the scale and what my parents will say. Ive gained 40 pounds in about a year and a half. Hey Cupcake, overeating is an addiction; One as powerful as smoking or drinking. If you can't get outside help then I have a few tips for you, because I was addicted to eating too. I know that sounds really weird, being "addicted" to food, but it's true. When I came home from school I would eat everything to the point where my stomach hurt, I would sneak downstairs in the middle of the night and make hot dogs or chicken nuggets, I would eat whole pints of ice cream. Food was my friend, whenever I felt bad I would eat, whenever I felt sad I would eat, whenever I felt mad I would eat...you get the point. One day I stepped on the scale and was shocked to see that I had gained 15lbs in a little less than 8 months! Today I’m better though. Here are some tips - If you go to an actual school (not online) eat! Don't let yourself go through the school day... One day I stepped on the scale and was shocked to see that I had gained 15lbs in a little less than 8 months! Today I’m better though. Here are some tips - If you go to an actual school (not online) eat! Don't let yourself go through the school day without any thing to eat, otherwise you run the risk of overeating at home. Have a granola bar or banana for breakfast, a salad(if your school has them) for lunch or a sandwich and then another little snack. Then at home, eat something good like chicken and veggies. I recommend the steamers vegetable packs, they're cheap and all you have to do is pop it in the microwave & bingo! - Come up with a mantra. I know this sounds hooky, but this really helped me. When I feel like I have to eat I just chant all the reasons I want to be thin and healthy in my head ( For bikini season, for my future cat(mom says I can have one if I lose the weight) for the guy I like, so I can share my friends clothes, so I can feel hot, for me! - Avoid food. This sounds pro-ana, I know. But it's not. I don’t mean avoid food completely, that’s nuts! But when you've eaten and everything, avoid it! Don't hang around in the kitchen! Go do something! play with your dog or go on a walk or draw or do homework, paint a picture, plant a garden, anything! - Have a cheat day. We're human. We like food. Sometimes, healthy food doesn't taste a satisfying as a good, flavorful meal. Can you really compare chicken and vegetables, to a big plate of spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread? No, so use one day out of the week (Sunday is usually good because it's the end of the week and it's like a reward) to satisfy your taste buds! After all that healthy living, you deserve it! Lastly, exercise. Exercise is key. I know some people enjoy it, but me? I hate it. I dread exercising, but I do it because it's the only way I’m going to get to my goal. Start out small: walking around your neighborhood for 10 minutes in slow pace, riding your bike for 10 minutes, and the gradually increase it. 30-45 minutes is great. Walking is great! Just put in your Ipod and jam, or go with your family or friend or dog! If you don’t exercise you're not going to lose weight, simple as that. I really hope this helped! I know you can do it! Just don't give up and keep believing in yourself! We do! If you need someone to talk to for motivation or whatever here’s my email stellerluna@yahoo.com(: Good luck! (view less)

Eat healthy foods like fruits and veggies and stay away from things like peanut butter, soda, and sweets. Swim and jog. If you not a big jogger (like me) you should start with a fast walk then get faster. Keep a journal (I know it sounds weird, just do it!) and reward you self with things like cds, new books, or going to the mall for losing weight. Just dont reward yourself with junk food. Hope this helps!

my few tips of advice, dont lose your head and go crazy eating. always think about eating what you want to eat Before you eat it! half the time you'll realize youre not really hungry, or no longer want to eat it because you know you'll feel guilty. also, quit drinking pop/soda if you do drink them. and stop eating deep fried or even resturaunt fried foods. its okay to eat fried foods at home as long as you use olive oil. i wish you the best of luck and i hope my advice was somewhat useful! :)

Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 165 lb (BMI: 25), Goal: 150 lb - I'm getting very frusterated. I can SEE the difference especially in my stomach, and my clothes fit a lot looser, and yet, the scale keeps fluctuating between 166 and 167 when a few days ago i weighed 165. like WHAT THE HEEELLLLL. maybe i'm retaining water? it can't be muscle, since I haven't been working out much. just eating around 1400 cals a day of healthy foods, hardly any bread, and lots of protein. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sorry I'm just irritated haha

Amanda- a health specialist told me recently that it's not a good idea to weigh yourself every couple of days, she said maybe every week/week and a half. She explained that your weight can fluctuate a few pounds up or down and that you may be retaining water. And it's always best to weigh yourself in the morning. Hope this helps (:
