Matt, with exercise you should do anything that keeps your heart rate up for 30 -40 minutes non stop, called aeorbic exercise. This may involve walking briskly, jogging, swimming, hockey, soccer, bike riding etc. With calories, every food, weighed in grams, has an energy value which is commonly called calories. Sometimes you may see Kilojoules. To convert that to calories divide by 4.2. Carbohydrates (bread, pasta) have 4 calories per gram, protein (meat, chicken) 4 calories per gram, but fats (oil, butter) have over twice that, with 9 calories per gram! This is why its a good idea to stay away from fatty deep fried fast foods. Pizza is very high in fat (cheese and fatty peperoni) and so also very high in calories. One slice has about 250 calories, which is alot considering that a large salad only has about 80 calories!! You could have a large salad (70 cals) and a fruit (60 cals) and a ... hey whatsup i was almost the same as u last yr...i was 5"3 and 133 pounds. It took my about 3 months to go down to 112. You need to go shopping with ur parents and stock up on all fat free or low fat foods. Go running. You really have to believe in urself. If you want to eat somnething fattening look in the mirror and ask yourself "Do I want to be fat?" Weight yourself every sunday. Good luck

You should try to eat smaller proportion size meals. About the size of your fist. For excersize, use whats around you. DO you have a treadmill or any kind of machine/ weights you can work out with? How about an excersize video? You could even jog in place or take a walk or do jumping jacks or Dance. You need to both eat right and do exersizes because you cant loose weight by doing just one. So take some time out of your day to go for a walk or do a tae bo video. And take time to make sure you have the right proportion of food and that its healthy!

okay sounds great! okay lets start with the basics. Do you excersize? If you do, how often and how long? Do you have enough time to excersize? Secondly, how do you eat? Answer honestly. Do you eat constantly or only at meals or somewhere in between? What kinds of foods do you eat? Do you have a problem with cravings? Lastly does at least your parent/ guardian know that you want to loose a lot of weight? A couple tips: *Drink lots of water. It fills you up, and its a fat flusher. *Try to avoid going into the kitchen. *Instead of watching TV, go up to your room & crank up the toons. Start dancing!!!! It's fun, and you can break a sweat doing it!!!!! ~I hope that helps a bit!

HOW TO LOSE A POUND A WEEK- If you don't know, one pound is equal to 3500 calories. It is recommended that everyone eat between 1800 and 2500 calories a day (that is sedentary to highly active) to remain the same weight and stay healthy. First I would recommend writing down everything you eat for 3 days. Then figure out how many calories each day you ate. Most calorie charts can be found in cook books, or I have found that http://www.ntwrks.com/~mikev/chart1a.htm is a very reputable source to find this type of information. To lose a pound a week, you must cut at least 500 calories a day. (500*7=3500). So, say you find your average is 2100 calories a day, and you cut 500 calories, you will then have a limit of 1600 calories a day. With my "plan" I write down everything I eat every day and keep track of calorie totals on a calander. Once you get into the habit of writing things down, it is... With my "plan" I write down everything I eat every day and keep track of calorie totals on a calander. Once you get into the habit of writing things down, it is very helpful, and it gives you a chance to improve math skills. But, let's also say, that you eat only around 1700 calories a day on average, and going down to 1200 calories a day seems like your depriving yourself, there is another way to split up calories, and that is by exercise. REMEMBER, NEVER GO BELOW 1200 CALORIES A DAY WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF YOUR DOCTOR!!! So, instead of having to limit yourself to 1200 calories a day, you can work out and burn, let's say, 200 calories, so now, you can eat 1400 calories a day. http://www.caloriecounter.co.uk/fit_burn.html is a great page for finding that, plus you can search on the web for a certain activity. TO LOSE 2 POUNDS A WEEK- This is quite a heavy task that requires a lot of exercise and a low calorie limit. To lose 2 pounds a week, you need to cut out 1000 calories a day. That is a lot, that is why, I strongly recommend diet and exercise for this type of weightloss. You'll want to exercise so you burn anywhere from 500-700 calories a day, and subtract 300-500 calories off your average caloric intake. This means that you must exercise for anywhere from 1-3 hours (1 is running, 3 is walking) to burn off the calories. But, the good thing is, you don't have to do all this exercise at once. It can be broken up into no less than 15 minute sprints of time. This means you could run (or in place) for 15 minutes 4 times a day, and maybe walk for 30 minutes. Remember, though, the heavier you are, the more calories you burn, and the easier for you to lose weight. In eating, to lose 2 pounds a week, say your average was 2100, you'll want to eat anywhere fron 1600-1800 calories a day. Also remember, that guys need more calories than girls, so they should probably increase their caloric intake 100 calories (not much, that's about 1 1/2 apples). Remember, take things at a good pace, and good luck! (view less)

To my suprise I can fit into clothes that are one or two sizes too small (YaY) It was weird cuz i didnt think about losong weight or exersizeing the whole time. I don't know how much i lost, if any. The Friday, Saterday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wensday before Thanksgiving I only ate fruits and vegitables well because thats all we had. And on Thursday, Friday, Saterday, and Sunday I ate sweet potatoes, fruit, and bread. Then the days from then to now I have been walking about 5 miles home from school on weekdays and on weekends I clean, play with my pets outside, walk, and do some thing that gets so much of my attention that I don't think about food. I have been eating fruit salads for breakfast and lunch and then have a bowl of beef stew ( i eat like one cup of stew)with lots of vegitables in it and one piece of pumpernickle rye bread tosted with no butter for dinner with no dessert... I feel better about myself, however I am stil working at it. (view less)

Being overwieght is no fun. I am getting a C- in my running grade in gym and I don't like that. I can't get this girl I have been eyeing on since first grade, but she might think I am not her type! Kids make fun of me because I eat to much. I know that I am bigger than that, but I can't help it.

As a suggestion, try practice running at home outside. Start out with 2 minutes of running, then walking for 2 minutes, then 2 minutes of walking, etc. Try talking to your parents about having healthier food around the house. You have to drink lots of water. Sometimes your body is trying to tell you that you're thirsty/dehydrated, but your mind sees it as hunger. Or if you're bored, or sad, you eat...but try walking or doing something active. It's better and healthier to be active than sit and watch TV.

Do some form of exercise for at least 30 minutes everyday. Eat fruits and vegetables and whole wheat bread, lean meats like chicken breast, salmon, tuna and cut back on the junk food and fried foods.

If you start now you will definately be sexy by the time your birthday comes around. Remember not to starve yourself. Your metabolism slows down in order for you to live. It feeds off your muscle and so any food you eat it will hold onto it and pack it on as fat, just in case you starve again. But if you keep giving your body nutritious food it won't hold onto it, and your metabolism will speed up and you will lose weight. Like I said before it is SOO important to drink lots of water! (Don't workout the same muscles 2 days in a row.) Good luck!
