for drinks, you could have koolaid. its not so bad for you at all! and you could try to make a dish wth chicken breast, chicken breast is really healthy, just be careful how you prepare it, putting fattening things on it makes it unhealthy! good luck, and happy bithday!! (:

Ht. 5'2", Start: 239 lb, Today: 219 lb (BMI: 40), Goal: 145 lb - So..I first came across this site a couple years ago when I was meeting my goal weight of 145. Well over the past 3 years I was diagnosed with a medical condition that was making me pack on pounds again!!! I was completely horrified to see the scale go back over 200 pounds because the highest I originally weighed was 202. So now I am that plus some and slowly getting it off. I have to do a low carb low sugar diet and am having some troubles finding things I can eat on the go, or things I don't get tired of quickly. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I totally understand how you're feeling! I also had a medical condition that caused me to put on 102 pounds! It was horrible..and as a result of the weight gain, I developed two new conditions! My doctor told me that if I was really serious about taking my health under control & losing the weight the way to really do it was NO(refined) sugar, NO alcohol, NO fastfood, reduced fat intake & lower sodium. I listened to what he said and have now lost 97lbs. SO - back to your question, I'll fill you in on some foods & snacks I like to eat that are quick, easy & portable... ~Unsweetend Apple Sauce, you can even buy them in prepackaged cups...I personally like to add cinnamon to them :) ~FRUIT!! berries are fantastic, they taste great & you can just pop them in your mouth & they're very refreshing & there's nothing wrong with a banana, apple, orange or whatever either ~Sandwich... Well heat one up on the stove until it gets crunchy & cut it into chip pieces & dip it in salsa ~Cup-a-soup...not sure if you're familiar with these but Lipton makes little soup packets (of all kinds of flavours)..all you do is add boiling water & you can drink it in your mug. Ht. 5'4", Start: 248.5 lb, Today: 219.5 lb (BMI: 38), Goal: 170 lb - I lost 5 more pounds! 29 down, 50 to go and I am feeling great! I was really worried about this weigh in so I am oober ecstatic about 5 pounds. So what I am experiencing in my journey right now is being tired of food. It will be dinner time and I will be hungry but I just don't want anything...I am tired of chicken and turkey, I am not a fan of fish. It's kind of funny that I am bored and don't know what to do with food and yet I am a culinary student. But if anyone has simply tasty recipes or knows where to get some let me know please. Congrats on the 5 pound loss! That's fantastic! :) You've obviously worked really hard to get where you are & should be VERY pleased with yourself! As for boring foods...just mix it up! Instead of having chicken breast & turkey for every meal, allow yourself to have some beef or pork or whatever meat you like. Just eat them once or twice a week in small portions instead and have a lot of tasty veggies - also, I like to add hot sauce or different spices for a unique taste to the same foods (as a chef yourself - I bet you can make chicken taste very different!). Another idea is to have quinoa for protein...it's delicious & you can make it into a tasty warm salad (add onion, grape tomatoes, spinich) & even throw in a few slices of chicken breast if you so please. I often treat quinoa like I would couscous. Hope those suggestions give you some ideas! :)

i have that same problem i drink like 3 or 4 cans of coke a day i just cant seem to swap it for something else !! ive tried hiding it but a glass of coke seems so much more appetizin than a glass of water. a couple of my friends suggested using a decorative glass or put like umbrellas and that in it to make it look more 'inviting' haha not sure how far that would work. good luck :) xxx

Ht. 5'5", Start: 187 lb, Today: 187 lb (BMI: 31), Goal: 135 lb - All I can say is PLEASE HELP!!! All through H.S I weighed 140-150lbs I thought I was heavy but.... I was happy with myself when I look in the mirror I just found this site searching for answers out of desperation. I've spent over $1,000US on books DVD's and personal trainers. I'm on the verge of hitting 200lbs and I don't want to for my height that is too much and it would DESTROY my confidence level. Someone if you could give me some motivation. I went shopping yesterday for the first time in a long time I used to wear a 9-11 in juniors and an 8 in misses now I wear a 15 in Juniors and a 14 in misses. I'm so down.....I'll look over some of the sucess stories hopefully to help me from NOT eating at all! (LOL I wish. if you're a fan of jello you'll love this tip. usually after dinner when im watching tv or a movie and i know ill want to munch on something, ill make a bowl of sugar free jello. the entire thing is only 40 calories and its suuuper filling. you can even buy low cal whipped cream and put it on top. its a great dessert too. just try and find little things like that to substitute sweets you normally like, and you can tweak your diet accordingly. hope i helped :) good luck

I think that's awful! But I still eat too much and I'm afraid I'll be eating too much. Still no way to eat less and lose weight. When I go out to eat, I usually weigh my options.. First I narrow it down to the things I'd like to eat, then I choose the healthiest of those things. If it's a huge portion, you can always get some wrapped up to take home. Fruit juices, smoothies, tea and chocolate milk are better options than soda, but a lot of restaurants have huge glasses, so try to only drink about a cup of beverage. (about the size of your fist)

Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 175 lb (BMI: 27), Goal: 145 lb - Hey guys! i just wanted to share something with you pasta lovers. i know it sounds weird, but trust me you wont even be able to tell the difference. steam some broccoli, and pour some pasta sauce on it and top it off with parmesan cheese. its sooo good and so much better for you. and its really filling too! i had a huge bowl of it yesterday for supper, about 4 cups of broccoli, and a cup of marinera sauce and 2 tbsp of parm, and it was only 260 calories. try it! aside from that i havent seen any budge in my weight, even though ive been drinking a ton of water(not to mention running to the bathroom every 5 minutes). But i just got my time of the month today so within a few days i should lose the water. god i hope so. i refuse to believe that those 5 pounds i gained are all fat. anyways i hope everyones doing great! good luck

for all chocolate lovers...i heard that dark chocolate is a lot better for you than milk chocolate so try eating that instead of the other if you must have chocolate!

well its been about 5 days since i posted on this site. i went from 185 to 179 but i still have a lot to lose. here's a tip for anyone who needs it: when you get hungry for a snack, try pickles which have 25 calories each or sunflower seeds which are about 180 for a whole pack. these snacks are better than regular snacks.

Hey guys!I just wanted to share a recipe for an awesome salad. I eat it all the time for lunch or supper.The first thing to do is take about 4-5 large leaves of lettuce, stack them, and cut them into inch-long strips. Then take either one big carrot, or several baby carrots and grate them on a small-holed cheese grater.Then, add tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, any other veges you want. The final touch is a tiny big of bacon bits (only a tiny pinch), about 7 Pepperidge Farm (they are small) croutons, and one teaspoon of McCormick Salad Toppings. The best part is that I don't even use dressing on it. That cuts alot of calories, making it even healthier.Good luck!

I HATE stretch marks too.... I have them. I try to live with them. I try and think about the other good things about me, like my slender figure, or my adorable eyes. I'm not sure about how fast these are, but here are some ways to lose weight: 1) Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. These should be a big part of your diet. 2) Eat lean meat and fish more often then red meat. It's a lot heathier! 3) Keep a food journal. It might help you in figuring out what you are eating too much of, and what you need to eat more of. 4) Limit snacking. Try not to eat more then three, or at the most four, snacks per day. When you do snack, try and make the snacks pretty heathy. 5) Don't forget milk! There has been a recent study showing that if you don't drink enough milk, then it makes it harder to lose weight. Try and drink one glass or milk a day. Be careful not to lose too much weight!! You could die! Stop when you are at your goal weight!
