Ht. 5'3", Start: 263 lb, Today: 212 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 200 lb - if i have never said this before im going to say it now , DIETS DONT WORK ! , seriously if you realy wanna lose weight you have to make life long changes, not temporary ones like going on diets, start by limiting your intake of bad things like sodas, cookies, cake, pie, chips . i didnt say completly cut them out because i understand thats kinda exereme =/ like who doesnt want a piece of cake every once in a while ? lol , and as you progress it will be a lot easier for you to just not think about them or want it :)) , THE HARDEST PART IS GETTING STARTED , but after you start and see progress you wouldnt wanna stop ! trust me :D , i love you guys and i know you can do it ! :))

I'm doing weight watchers and it's worked wonderfully for me. And yeah, by all definition it is a "diet" but it's taught me so much! I've learned I can eat things I love as long as I control my portions. I've learned that exercise makes me feel good. Weight Watchers has taught me to control myself which I think will be the most valuable thing when my membership there ends. I understand what your saying about diets, they are temporary and it truly is about making a lifestyle change. I agree completely. We've got to stop telling ourselves that we are on a diet and just tell ourselves that this is the way we live now. I think a lot of diets are useful, they offer good advice and they work in the moment. However, if we don't learn from our diets and apply what we learned after our efforts have totally gone to waste

Ht. 5'7", Start: 200 lb, Current: 189 lb, Goal: 145 lb - Hey every one I just found this site and I am hoping that this might be just one more thing to help me out. If you can tell I am very large and its because i am the biggest emotional eater that anyone has seen. well here is what I ate today. Breakfast: breakfast bar that our school has. Lunch: A salad with a little dressing Dinner: Salad with chicken and dressing H2O: 3 24 oz bottles Is that good? I also am taking these diet pills people tell me not to take them but i feel they work and the make me not want to binge on bad foods. i dont overdose on them like I use to so I think it is okay. Please feel free to tell me what you are thinking call me fat or what ever tell me the truth please and dont hold anything back because that is what my friends do and thats not what i need.

To all the people out there who are trying diets such as atkins, zone, cabbage soup etc you dont need to do it! A simple way to lose weight effectively and keep it off is by eating three meals a day, having one snack, doing 15 minutes exercise per day, and just being practical. I have done this for the past week and yes i have included my favourite foods...just smaller portions and have lost 6lbs. I still get to enjoy my food and not give anything up and am losing the same amount of weight as someone who is on a unhealthy 'fad' diet. People, it can be done. Just motivate yourself and keep your head up. Good luck

youve been on this site long enough to know what a fad diet is. THIS IS ONE (Slim Fast). i dont mean to be harsh, but no, its not healthy, it will not lead to perminate weiht loss and all the ppl that supposedly lost all that weight on it DONT HAVE NORMAL RESULTS.

For the record, all those diets that say you will lose like 10 pounds in a weak are all fake. You are just losing water weight. I have tried every diet under the sun like that and the weight just comes back very easily. the best way is the old-fashion way. balanced, healthy meals and excersize. im 5'3" and 100 pounds i used to be 167. you just need to disipline yourself. set small goals. my best friend and i made a sort of race to see who could reach their goal the fastest. I won.

to everyone who is thinking about/about to begin/already doing atkins, i really don't reccomend it. i did it for two weeks and i lost 8 pounds, i was so happy and excited, but it really is not all its cracked up to be. atkins is not a diet that you do for 2 weeks, 2 months, or even 2 years... its a lifetime commitment. when i decided to not do atkins for one day, i gained everything back plus 2 pounds!!!!!! do you really wanna spend the rest of ur life counting carbs??? and who would want to deprive their bodies for fruits and grain, which is what it needs.... im not talking about chocolate covered strawberries and white bread, of course those are bad for you!! what im talking about is regular fruits and wheat bread. atkins is a very hard way to live and i don't reccomend it. the second you cheat on it, it knocks your body out of ketosis. so just listen from someone who has experienced it and don't try it unless you want it for life. thanks so much for listening and hope i helped!!!!! good luck!!!!

The second step should be to figure how bad we want it. Cause if you want something so bad you can get it, you just have to work hard just like anything that you want. Example, say you want to buy a car really bad, what do you do, you work really hard to earn that money to buy a car. Well its the same thing with losing weight, you have to work really hard to earn a healthy, thin body. No quick diet is going to fix that. Just like there is no quick way to get money, legally that is. LoL. So everyone stay with your healthy eating and exercise, and have will power to stay away from eating high calorie foods. Hey I was watching th eMontel show and they were talkin bout diets and stuff so I decided to share whut I learned fro the Montel show. All you have to do is not eat as much as simple as that u dont need atkins south beach grapefruit siet 3 day diet none of those fad diets. All you need to do is eat in smaller proportions and excercise and drink water montel weighed 210 when he was diagonosed with MS and he now weighs 187-189 and he stays there for the whole year for the past 3 years and all he did was excercise eat smaller porptions and drank tons of water. SO that is whut I am goin to do and I am not goin to go for any fad diet im just gonna eat less and excercise im still gonna eat w'/e i want but in moderation and just drink water and excercise and I know I can do this if Montel did I can do and I feel confident. Hi I am 12, and currently weigh 137 pounds. About a month and a half ago, I weighed 154. I felt miserable in the inside, and outside, even though i had friends, and was very outgoing, but at home, i would just cry. SO I went on the internet,and found a relativly easy diet. The South Beach Diet. It is based on a low carb diet, but it is less strict. in two weeks you loose 7-12 pounds. Its awesome. Everynody notices a difference. I am on my way to reaching my goal of 125 pounds by summer. I hope all of you who want to loose weight try this. I was recently on the Atkins plan and lost about 8 pounds in only 3 weeks. But i went off it because I couldn't stand the limited food choices. I gained all the weight back within a week. Anyway, i've been reading the success stories and I feel inspired once again to lose weight. THis time, I'll do the low calorie approach, with lots of exercise! I did that in the past, and I lost alot of weight! Hope this time around I won't gain it all back.

hi , i no im not a pre_teen but i just want to say the atkins diet is really stupid , you cut out all carbs and healthy stuff like bread , pasta , fruit ect and only eat things like bacon and burgers , although some of you might think thats good listen to what happends . because your stomach hasnt got any carbs to break up it starts breaking your own fat up , which might also sound good , but its really dangerous , when youstop the atkins diet you put all this fat back on , sometimes even more , its a diet you cannot stay on as it can cause heart attcks and fatail ilnesses , if you really wanna lose weight you just have to eat a balanced diet and no snack or anything in between meals , also cut down on fizzy drinks n stuff , make sure you get at least 3 hours of exercise per week, and that doesnt just mean walking round a mates house or to school , p.e at school does count though. or any sports or bike ridding , ok ? good luck .
