hi im ayla im 14 yrs old and i have another question.i want to starve myslef but i cant and i get really depressed from being fat like i told you all before i just fell like not eating and working my self really hard but i want to loose all my weight and i know this isnt the way to go. i am me but i hate being made fun of because of my weight so i feel like starving myself.i know im not going to but i am very sad because of my weight.

Today: 162 lb, Goal: 144 lb - hey i weigh about 162-163 ponds(10 stone) and i think i need to lose about 14-18 pounds and i was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on a diet. I tried the atkins diet that started to work wel but then i found out though you lose fat fast u also lose muscle, i am trying calorie counting but its hard. Would you also be able to tell me the best foods to eat and how many calories i should take. thanks

Good idea to get off the Atkins diet. It is not safe and the weight will come back because the diet does not last. It is impossible and unhealthy to stick to. Eat fruits and vegetables. Also make sure you get in a good amount of lean meats. Eat foods with a lot of fiber because they will fill you up faster. Some people will tell you to eat low fat, but you need fat so cut back but don't omit it. The key is to eat everything in moderation. Try to eat every few (2-3 hours) to keep your metabolism going. Start: 200 lb, Today: 190 lb - Hey all! Well I haven't been on in a while, but I want to get back on track. I am at like 190 now, starting at 200, but I still have a ways to go. For all the beginners out there, don't follow the "Trendy Diets" because they really dont work. Just stop eating all the juck food, and go out and exercise! Trust me it really works! I get out every nice evening and my father and I play a game of basketball. Not only does it give me exercise, but it gives him exercise too. The best way to lose weight is with help from the close people around you. So take my advice, and good luck!

Diet pills will screw your body up, ephedra free or not. Diet pills are basically legalized cocaine. Is that *really* something you want to put in your body? Let me tell you a secret: Anything that promises to lose you more than 2 lbs a week is hurting you. I really hope you make the right decision and don't mess up your body *for life* just because you want to look better as a teenager. Good luck, -J

i dont want to start a huge argument but i think atkins is a good idea. it is actually good for ur kidneys, heart,etc. it has saved many peoples lives. the reason it works is because when someone has like stuff with no protein in it and they work out, ur body is forced to extract protein, not fat. im not saying low cal diets dont work, but for a while u lose only muscle, and that leaves u fealing really hungry!(ive tried it) it also prevents diabbetes-(because you dont eat sugar!!) and many overweight people have got it (not a good thing) id love to hear ur replys!

The Atkins diet is actually not good for your kidney's. It is not good to omit essential foods from your diet such as carbs. Carbs are essential to your diet. They give you energy.

I dont know a thing about "dieting patches" but some how I think it's some kind of scam that dosent work and eats up all your money. So the best way to loose weight is to eat right and exercise w/ love ~Amanda~

the 3 day diet? what, lose 10 lbs in 3 days or something? Anything that's too good to be true, is exactly that. It's probably just water weight if anything. I wouldnt try something like that.

TO all that are thinking about going on the "Atkins diet", then change directions. That is a very dangerous diet....It has hurt many people...It can hurt your kidneys very seriously....I'm not trying to stir a fight but this is true.

Instead of having crazy diets that u can't possibly keep up until august have a nice simple one. Say. . . 30 minutes hard exersice 3-4 times a week and eating healthy food (pasta, lean meat, fruit and veg) with 1-2 solid good meals a day. Instead of having snacks eat a good brekkie. And it will be much easier to keep it up. If u have a crazy fad diet as soon as you stop or give up u will get all the weight back. Get into good habits that aren't to hard to follow and get stuck in them.

just to tell u people who want to skip meals and stuff to lose weight, don't. i did for a few days and my mood was so glum and depressing! i didn't want to do anything for the rest of the day! but then i started to eat lunch (cuzz thats the meal i skiped) and i was like the happiest person alive! my mood was alot better! i wanted to do more things and i was alot better off!

that diet's been around for ages. I did it when I was 13 and I hate to break it to you but it doesn't work. What happens is that you lose water weight so when you start eating normally you'll put it all back on.

Ht. 5'3", Today: 130 lb (BMI %tile: 71) - omg! I just ate pizza. I hope I dont gain any more weight. I was trying to do this only salad diet. But I blew it! I'll start back up tom. I like salad, the only bummer is that is has to be dry and plain, (no dressing or almonds or carrots, etc) and that you cant drink anything but water during the day, those are my standards. Wish me luck. I am thinking of taking diet pills. Do they work? the only thing that has kept me from taking them, is that this particular pill contains Ephedra, which is linked to heart problems and numerous deaths. any ideas? im 5'3 and 130.

I used 2 take diet pills, like hydroxicut and metalbolife. they made my heart race and its kind of hard 4 me 2 do strenuous exercise. dont do it. i saw a talk show recently where people had strokes and have died. dont do it. u r much better doing it urself. besides, when i did take them, my mom told me, "what, DO U PLAN ON TAKING THIS 4 THE REST OF UR LIFE?"

Starving yourself will not make you lose weight, and if you do lose a little weight, you will gain it right back when you start to eat. Try cutting down on meals portions and eat 6 small meals a day. Also, try to get some exercise, walking for 15 minutes a day will do the trick!

i lost alot of weight on a low carb diet, but i gained it all back. u jus have to watch what u eat. good luck.
