That great that you lost 40 pounds Sade!! mini goals are a good step so that way you wont be disapointed that you did not make your big goal. I used to be 165 pounds last year. Start with 10 pounds by the end of the mounth you will want to lose 10 more. Drink lots of water, ride bike, walking, running, jog, scctor, Jump rope, stretchs. Swiming, kayking, boating, roller skateing, ice skateing, eat less. Dont give up reaching your goal. Dont be discourged. I hope to have helped Jessica 16

I know it seems impossible sometimes when we thing about the amount of weight we have to lose but take it one day at a time one pound at a time. Start with small changes workout for 20mins even if it's something simple like marching in place. This is a long hard journey but you can't give up or else it will just keep getting worse. I've only lost 31 pounds in the last year that's how hard it's been for me but we can all do this don't ever think you can't. Stay strong little chnages at a time and dont give up.

That is just ridiculous. It's my fault too, since I'm always going off and on with my eating healthy. I really need to get into the 250's, that's my main goal right now.

Don't fret, sometimes it just happens. I got stuck in the 180's for a long time & it was really frustrating. You're not far from your goal...when you really look at it, to lose 1 pound, all you have to do is eliminate 3,500 calories. Now make that you goal for this week...to eliminate 3,500 calories from your diet. Seems simple enough, no? So how are you going to do that? I'll give you some tips, but you need to decide what will really work for you...Let's say you take a walk...do you have enough time to walk for 30minutes everyday? 7 days of walking for 30 minutes will eliminate approx 525 calories! If you walk for 1 hour a day that's 1,050 calories in only one week! So, what about food, watching your food intake will really help eliminate calories...how about you drink nothing but water instead of juice/pop this week...is that possible? That alone can easily eliminate 2,520 calories in... (view more)Don't fret, sometimes it just happens. I got stuck in the 180's for a long time & it was really frustrating. Plus water increases metabolism (bonus!) & there you have it, one pound GONE in a week! & that's without even changing your actual eating habits! So now that you've lost one pound in one week, how about next week you do this again, AND start making small changes to your diet...say,having fruit (or even better, berries) for dessert instead of cake or ice cream or whatever...or picking the healthier options for some of your meals (whole wheat bread over white, mustard instead of mayo)...you'll be surprised at how big of a difference all this makes! Just take it ONE DAY AT A TIME! you can do it! :) (view less)

All I can say is don't get discouraged when you don't see results right away. If you eat well and exercise it will be noticed. And once you start doing both those things you'll feel better about yourself anyway. Give yourself an easier goal. Say 10 pounds. 10 pounds doesn't seem so far away as 70 does. Good LUCK :)

Hey Liz. I think that's a well written poem! On a side note though, i hope you don't give that much importance to the numbers on your scale. It's there for a i'll guidance and motivation sometimes, but don't let it take over your life where you feel you can only have a good day if the numbers on the scaled agree with you... That wouldn't be too healthy.. Good Luck and keep writing! :)

I hate to sound like anyones mother (I am a mother actually, to 2 children, I definitely do NOT promote having children at a young age, their father and I ARE still together) but do you not realize what you are doing? This is definitely not to anyone in particular because even searching back I have seen some unhealthy posts. I'm very dissapointed because I thought by us being grown adults we would all know better. How would you feel if your little sister/brother started eating a very low number of calories, not getting their proper nutrients? & exercising to the extreme? I hate to say it but anyone who is doing this WILL, I repeat WILL gain the weight BACK! AND THEN SOME! You will be even more unhappy and continue on with "the vicious cycle". If the adults use the teen board I feel like we should be ROLE MODELS. It's crazy that I've been seeing some 13 year olds make much heathier decisions than we do. It's pathetic actually. We probably know of many more resources than the young teens do, and we all know that starving yourself or exercising to the extreme is a big NO-NO. We are not on the Biggest Loser Ranch, lol. Hey even they eat more cals than some of us. I truly hope this doesn't offend anyone and if any of the younger teens need advice feel free to ask me. Don't give in to the unhealthy lifestyle. I lost 90 pounds before a couple of years ago, unfortunately gained it back with my most recent pregnancy so I KIND OF have an idea of what to do. It's only a matter of being consisent with it. Keep up the good work for all of you who are choosing the healthy lifestyle. For those of you who are not, try to adjust to a lifestyle change. You cannot live off of like 200calories a day for the REST of your life! Ok that is all, just had to get that off my chest. By the way, check out "Fruit Chillers", made with real fruit, great choice for vitamin C, you freeze them and eat them like popcicles, I've only tried the strawberry ones and they are DELICIOUS! I have my whole family hooked on them now. My daughter loves them. =) (view less)

Jasmine, the only way to get what you want is to put the work forth for it... we can do this.. I know its super hard but baby steps... its like anything else in life, but it seems to be the hardest... its just like school or work though.. you have to work at it to accomplish a diaploma or a paycheck.. the rewards will come if we work hard for them... we should work hard.. for ourselves, because the only person we can count on forever with is ourselves...

*comment to your comment* ---yes! definitely. Not eating will actually lead to you gaining more weight because your body goes into starvation mode and starts eating up your insides, which makes you weak and once you start eating again you will just gain lots of weight back and more than you started with. So eat every 3 hours and only a handful of stuff. Your stomach is like a fireplace, you keep throwing wood in and the fire gets stronger. We have to eat to have our stomach BURN the fat and the calories, our metabolism speeds up and losing weight is all about metabolism. Eat this way and work out and I gurantee it'll work. It takes time so don't get frustrated in the first week..your body will get used to it soon and then start burning. GOod luck!

i know how you feel, i've been in that situation many times before. Instead of looking at your goal as being a million miles away, just think of this: rome wasn't built in a day and neither were those thighs. lol You didn't gain the weight overnight, so it won't come off overnight either. to keep you motivated, try eating healthy foods and say to yourself "okay, my first goal is to lose 5 pounds" once you've done that, reward yourself with something not so good for yourself, like a piece of dark chocolate or some ice cream, and then continue with your weight loss until your next mini-goal. trust me, setting mini goals for yourself helps, because you're more focused on losing that little chunk of weight rather than the entire thing. hope that helped. good luck, you can do it!!

OMG guys. I'm so happy. I'm finally 133. That was my goal for my vacation and vacation is in 2 days. I can't believe I made it!!! my next mini goal is 131. This is my advice for everyone. Don't rush yourself in losing weight..accept that it will take a long time. I mean..I told myself..my goal for vacation is 133 but I also told myself that If I didn't make it I'd still go and have a great time anyway..instead of letting my weight ruin it. Don't plan to lose weight by school or by a certain date cuz all that does is ruin your progress trust me..I mean..I want to be 125 by school..thats my goal but I'm not going to make it a have to do thing. I'm going to lose as much as I can.shoot maybe it will only be 1 or 2 lbs but the point is I'm beautiful no matter what I weigh and you guys should feel the same..I hope everyone is doing well with progress..i do wish you all the best. i don't think we should be so obbessed with actul "weight" on this site. If we know the actual amount of fat on our body then we can use that to track out weight loss success, but when we say we weight a certin weight there is some muscle in there, and if you exercise correctly for a long period of time you will actulyl gain lean muscle, which will in turn make you weight more on the scale but fit into one LESS dress size. What I'm saying is, lets track our progress by pant sizes rather then weight that can change within times of the day and isn't your actual fat percentage....just a thought, doesn't have to happen but i feel its a more accurate way to lose the weight, if we stop starting at the scale, and freaking out that we've gained 5 lbs before we realize its muscle and we look slimmer none of us will suceed...we can do it though! good luck

how tall are you. 100 might be overweight. even if it is, just watch your diet and workout more, and dont allow yourself to gain weight for a while, so you will "grow in" to your weight.

i've been away for a couple of days but i was just reading the day-old posts and something disturbed me. first of all my boyfriend's sister took courses on altering photos and she shows me all of the fake places(which are a lot!) where they alter the pictures of models in magazines. in a lot of the day-old posts people are saYING how they cut out pics of models and want to look exactly like them. well- you can't, they don't even look exactly like themselves because their bodies have been changed. so don't set yourself up[ thining that you'll ever be able to look like that please...
