Well everyone, I am still 5'7", still 175lbs. but I've decided to do something about it! My mom just ordered an "ABslide" and I think it will really be able to help me out. I am also going to start going to WeightWatchers with my mom and brother so I can learn healthy eating habits. It's almost spring so I'm going to start riding my bicycle alot. And my Mom is going to buy a stationary bicycle too! :) I really feel like I'm on the path to a better and healthier life! :)

Mags, You are doing the right thing. I am now eating healthily and I feel great! Not only have I lost 16 pounds steadily but I feel fitter and my skin has got better. I am nearly at my goal weight. I felt bad at the beginning and a bit despondent but I am nearly there now but I will not go back to my old eating habits because I feel so much better now. I will never be thin - and I don't want to be - because that is genetics but neither will I be wobbling all over the place like I was before. Just remember that if you are positive then you will get there and don't worry if you have a bad day, just start the next day afresh. Good luck.

I am 14 yrs. old and i am 5'3" and 123 lbs. I used to eat a lot and I really didnt seem to get bigger but within the past year or so I have been noticing that I cant eat as much and i dont. I exercise regularly and I play alot of sports. When I am not in a sport I run. Lately I have been giving away my food at lunch even my favorite foods. My friends keep asking me waht is wrong and I just tell them I'm not hungry. Today for lunch i hate a peach and didn't eat breakfast but still dont lose weight. I dont know what else to do can you halp?

Whoa girl! Your body needs more food than just a peach! You can still eat food!!! If you starve your body like that, your metabolism slows down and you will end up gaining weight in the long run....Also, even though you might lose a couple pounds now, you'll gain them back really quickly as soon as you start eating normally again...a healthy weight loss is 2 pounds or less a week....I know this doesn't seem like a lot, and it seems like it will take forever to lose that weight, but it won't come back once you lose it! You need to eat....Try eating more dietary fiber (wheat bread, etc.) fruits, vegetables, and try cutting down on red meat. And switch to low fat foods or even fat free. You can still eat at regular meal times with a couple of snacks as long as you eat the right foods. You can e-mail me at Newton6109@aol.com!

Hey I feel really messed up coming to this site but I'm 170 pounds (bathroom scale not too reliable sience 2-4 days ago it said I was 150 pounds) I'm not real fat but I'm tall about 5'5"-5'7" I am also big boned. It makes me feel very bad when kids my age are saying well I'm 100 pounds. Please Talk to me we can confort each other I'm sure.

You are so lucky to be tall. I am only 4 foot 9 and I won't get much taller because my parents are both small. First advice, forget what everyone else says about being 100 pounds. Why do they feel they need to boast? Probably because they are insecure. Also, if you are tall and big boned then you will be heavier anyway. If you are really worried then talk to the school nurse or a doctor. They will probably say that for your height and bone structure, you are about right. Anyway, think of it this way: you can lose weight but if these girls are short then they can't grow. I am one of the shortest in my class and chubby but I have just lost five pounds with a sensible diet. I accept my lack of height because I can't do anything about it but I think I have other great attributes that other people don't have. Make the most of what you have and stand tall. Forget what other people say. What is important is what you think. People that boast about things like weight or new clothes etc are usually insecure about themselves.

2 summers ago i lost 25 pounds and felt great, but when school started again, i lost control and started buying lunch, which was not the best thing to do. Now, i can't get any willpower to do it again. I have gained all the 25 pounds back and feel bad and i know i have to lose, but just starting is a problem. I came across this site and am finding it a great help. Most of the places around are for older people, not teens, and its great to have a place that understands what we are going through and makes it a little easier to lose by not selling anything or using those big technical tersm. Anyway, i would just like to say good luck to everyone here on their goals. Mine is 50 pounds, and I'M GOING TO MAKE IT.

Good for you!!! Everyone should have a goal and be as optimistic about it as you are. Just make sure you don't try to lose it all at once. Work your way there. Goals are not won in one day, or even one week, for that matter. Keep up the spirit!!!
