Hey everyone,I come to this site time to time looking for inspiration, and I usually find it. But the key in weight loss is not always looking for some quick fix, but for looking at a completely different outlook on life. I go to school every day with people some would call preps, buffies..etc..they're skinny, and "beautiful". But if you really think about it, what truly defines beauty? I can say that I have been overweight, but I had to accept what was me, and then want to change for myself...not because I was supposed to be skinny, but because I needed to be a healthy weight and truly feel comfortable. I noticed a remarkable change in my weight when I began to eat when I was hungry and not just because it was there or because it looked good to me. So, please don't just look for something short-term...and something that is unrealistic, because it will depress you and cause you to eat more...loosing weight with all these "quick" diets is not the key. But keep believing in yourselves, and want this for YOU and not everyone else. -Piccles

if you read my ad be4 on this bulletin than you know my story, but I read some replys and looked into them and understand them, but I have some questions about them. I am supposed to have a lot of water, but doesnt that look funny at school drinking water all the time? I mean I have some rivals and it is hard to do stuff like diet without them gaining on me, even though I could take them lol. I just don't have the heart to :). Anyways if you have ideas about drinking water and kinda hiding it or if you have some more ideas for losing weight please tell me and if you have aim my sn is SwCShadowfax. Thanks

I've felt uncomfortable with my body for the longest time and I decided to never do anything about it.So...yesterday I decided that I would do 100 crunches a day and drink plenty of water. Also I think I am going to try walking with my 5-year-old neighbor. I'm hoping to lose 35 pounds. I want to do this so I can feel better about myself when I go to highschool and to gain self-confidence!! Tell me what you think...

QUESTION: my friend and me was just talking about weight.........(she is as skinny as a rail) neway it was can a person really be "HAPPY" big? personally i think no.........you just accept the fact......i mean think about it shopping can be rough(not to mention they charge MORE!) people stare at you, you are uncomfortable fitness wise ,and evny is something "WE" just as humans can't not stop to do.i told her i think peole just give up and be like whatever this is who i "choose to be" and everyother excuse in the book I MEAN I COULD BE WRONG!!!!!!!!! so don't attack me just my OPINION!!!!! but i am wondering what do other people think

I have always believed that people of bigger stature can be just as pretty as tyra banks or whoever... It just depends on how you present yourself to others, and how you feel about yourself. If you feel good, it shows. I am 5'7, 165, and i lost about 10 pounds. I am not small, but im healthy and im vibrant and beautiful. I get just as much attention if not more, because im confident, and i like myself for me. Big can be beautiful, just as long as you love who you are. Thanks much.

okay im like 100 pound overweight i cant stop dreaming about begin skinny or just good lokking there are so many times i wish i could look like the models and just get so mad!plus i love food i never know when to stop eating! all my friends are thin and i just feel like i cant acomplish anything untill i lose the weight there are so many times when i want to stare myself or something, it would mean so much if i could talk to someone who knows where im coming from!

yeah i know how you feel, we all dream about being skinny, having the guys look at us, but do you really want guys to look at you because your "Hot", yeah ok me too, but thats not my point lol, take a good look in the mirror, no matter what ANYONE thinks, you are beautiful, everywhere we turn we see gorgeous models, and books saying we should look like this, but we all are not like that, we need to be ourselves, lose weight slowly, because if you lose weight fast then you will gain it back because your body still thinks you are "over weight". no woman is the same size, and we should all be happy, by the way we look, but we aint, we get depressed from being over weight, we eat because we are depressed, and then we just get bigger, and feel more unhappy, but you know what, we can over power it, when you feel hungry or want something to eat, get something like a salad that has chicken ... Today: 168 lb - HI MY NAME IS ALICIA AND I WIEGH 168 LBS AND I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN MYSELF BECAUSE I AM OVER WEIGHT. Hi1....I think the best way for u to loose weight and to gain more confidence is to eat loads and loads of fruits and vegetables and drink at least 6 glasses of water a day. u can also try to walk around the neighbourhood a couple of times a day. well. I hope it works out for you and good luck!

I use to be overweight and although it doesn't make sense I felt inferior to others. I would shy away because I thought if I stood out or spoke up people would think I was just a stupid fat girl. America is horbibly prejudiced towards fat people (or ugly, or some other stuff that shouldn't matter either)So anyway I also felt I couldn't wear lots of different cloths because who wants to se a fat guy in a little shirt (my fav. line from Tommy Boy). People look at you differently when you are fat, even my grandmother was cold to me when I was overweight but now she is much more welcoming and friendly and even admitted that yeah she feels a lot better about me now that I'm not "ugly". Now that I am thin I feel much more confident, and like I can be me. So reach out to your friend and love and respect him/her because he/she probibly wants and needs acceptance. To all those of you who are still heavy- don't be afraid to be yourself because when I was over weight I wasted 3 years not because of the weight but because I let the weight bring me down.

Ht. 5'6", Today: 140 lb (BMI %tile: 75) - Im 15, Im about 5'6, and I weigh about 140 pounds. Its taken me a long time to get to where I am today, weightwise.... I've been overweight my whole life, so I really SHOULD be happy with my weight, but Im not. I still feel disgusting and my self esteem is very low. I feel like I need to lose more weight. Im just very confused as to why everyone tells me I look good. My friends even say im "perfect" but I always feel that they're just saying it to shut me up. I dont know why I cant accept myself and I dont know what I have to do to begin to accept myself. What should I do?

Hi -- i have no clue who u r but maybe i can help u to lose some pounds 1- stop drinkin soda pop---switch to tea/water--but no pop!! 2- stop eating sweets and candy junk that has alot of suger in it 3- try to walk two miles a day or some other form of exercise for at least 30 min. a day 4- You got to be dedcaded and tell yourself " i know i can do this " and if all of this stuff don't work then LOVE YOURSELF!!!!! don't let anyone put u down just tell your self " i'm big and beautiful " or " fat and faboulous" (lol)--- don't worry i tell myself that all the time !! lol---- i hope that u succeed!! if not remember wut i told u " big and beautiful"!!!!
