if you don't like to exercise, try putting on some fast paced dancing music, and dancing around for a while. it may not seem like your tipical exercise, but it burns calories. try to do it for a while, and if you do, you'll actually break a sweat.

If you lay sideways on the ground and if you are facing left with your arm holding up your head then you put you right leg over the left leg with the right knee bent pointing to the ceiling. Once you've done that lift your left leg up and down slowly but keep you right firmly on the ground. Then rotate legs

Hi I'm Caroline, I just want to feel better about myself and lose some weight. I am 5'2 and I weigh 161 pounds. I've always been chubby and my parents and other relatives always make fun of me and ask if I'm on a diet. I can't talk to my mum because I'm too embarrased and it's like she hates fat and she is terrified of becoming fat herself! I think she is disgusted by me! Like if we are out shopping she'll say Oh you can't wear that it's been designed for slim people. I hate myself. At school I only get teased occasionally but I feel self consious ALL THE TIME!!! I am not looking forward to christmas cos theres so many parties and I look fat in every outfit. I'm desperate! I just feel sad and ugly. Can anyone help?

hey...i know how u feel..my relatives used to tease me about my weight..i was around 5'2 and 150 lbs...but then my best friend (who was on a swimteam at the time) told me about it and offered me to try it...of course i did and it was SO hard the first practice!!..i looked horrible in a bathing suit and i was the slowest of the group. Now i've been swimming for 3 years and have slimmed down A LOT. everyone says that compared to what i looked like before, they wouldn't recognize me on the street. Swimming is proven to help lose weight because you're working a lot of muscles and the water supports your body. I hated sports, but swimming was different...try finding a sport that you like. It may be hard and discouraging at first but NEVER give up, you'll get there and trust me, it's WAY worth the trouble. oh, by the way, i didn't have to change the way i ate! eat healthy though, but don't starve yourself..eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. good luck!! p.s.: you can do anything if you put your mind to it =)

Hey everyone! Well I haven't lost much weight so far b/c I just started my dieting rutien. I cut back on the sweets ( and yes it was hard but it is worth it in the end) I also do a 45 min. workout everyday (Cindy Crawfort i think thats how you spell it...lol) I also drink nothing but water and sometimes gatoraid. Also when I am watching a TV show I do crunches during the camercials wich helps. I do about 30 push ups (gurl ones) a day. Me and my friend also go runnig whenever we are together which is really fun! So I will update this later when i loose more weight but if any of you want to email me go ahead i'll answer back Jenlg25@aol.com or BeachBlondy25@aol.com BYE and GOOD LUCK !!!!

Just be more active in general! Walk, ride your bike, rollerblade. Just MOVE. Try to keep it up for at least 15 minutes at a time. You can dance to a couple songs on the radio in your own room! (Up-beat songs!). Good luck, I know you can do it!

Hey...i just wana offer anyone advice who wants to read it. If you are overweight dont start doing crunches and muscle excercises. You have to loose the fat before you try to make ur muscle show. If you are overwieght and you do crunches ir probley isnt working because you have to burn off all the fat(cardio) before you start situps and push ups. I personally recommend tia-boe (spell?) its a really fun way to burn fat.

Being on 3 sports teams, I agree with you. You can't get in shape by doing calisthetics, you have to run, and do stuff that makes you sweat because when you sweat, you lose weight.

Hi. This is my first time here and I need a lot of motivation! I'm 5' 5" 145.4 lbs. I know I'm not considered "overweight" but I really am fat. I have rolls and flab, it's gross. I wanna be thin really really bad, I even tried being anorexic! But I couldn't do it cause I always had to eat with my parents. And another thing, I don't like people to know that I'm exercising cause they might think things, like I have an ED or it's gross to watch or something. I like exercising, just not letting people know I'm doing it or doing it with people. Can somebody please help me? Peace out! Zoë

Getting tapes would be a good idea. You can do aerobics or tae-boe in your living room. You can buy elastic workout bands to tone those "flabby" places, too. I know what you mean about working out in public, and this was what I did for many years to get started.

It might sound sort of dumb, but at least you won't have people watching you all the time. Try running up and down stairs for a certain amount of time every morning and night. and riding your bike, sounds dorky, but you'll gain muscle. I used to be 145, and now I'm 140. I have been doing it for 1 1/5 weeks.

don't just COMPLAIN about it...i know it's hard, because i was always TEASED when i was younger. JOIN A SPORT!!! SWIMMING IS EXCELLENT!! i've done it for 1-2 years, and i've seen incredible results, i didn't even have to change my diet!! just, don't eat fries, pizza or any fatty foods, DRINK LOTS OF WATER, and cut down on the carbs (pasta, bread, rice). Swimming is good because it doesn't put pressure on your joints when you move, and the water supports your body. I'm on a swimteam, and swim 10-11 hours a week. When i first started, it was really hard and i wanted to quit. I hated how i was slower than everyone else, and the way i looked in a swimsuit. BUT I DIDN'T QUIT, and look where it got me. I'm part of the best on the team, so DON'T GIVE UP AND KEEP TRYING NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU WANT TO!!!

School is starting again, and that means I'll have gym class, every other day. Four times a year, we have to run a mile, but I can't do it. We get 15 minutes and I'm always last to finish. No one teases me, or anything, but I just want to be able to do this. We also have to run and do a lot of physical labor, but our gym teacher is evil and hates overweight people. What am I gonna do?

Yeah, I also disagree with John (no offense(: ) As Jessika said, don't run away from the problem. And start running. If you have a goal, which is to get faster... do all the right things. Like, if you're trying to lose weight too... go on a diet (stick to it!) and run/walk, say a mile a day, or half a mile. But walk sometimes. Go slow at first, and gradually pick up speed after you've been doing it for a week or so. You'll get in shape for running, and lose weight if you're on a diet. And thinner people get tired out less easily. So that will also help you to get better, because you get tired less, which makes you be able to go faster. ;-) I hope you try something like this. I really think it would work well. ;-) Email me sunny680ajh@aol.com

Hey! Every day I go for 25 min. walk, a 10 min. jog, 4 sets of 15 crunchs, 4 sets of 15 push-ups, 15-20 mins. of weight training, cut what I eat in half, and don't eat junk food. Should I cut back on my exercising? Do I exercising too much? Should I only exercise every second day?? I really need to know. Please tell me. Thanks.

Hi. I am in college and last semester I took a health and fitness course. A lot of people think it is bad to exercise everyday, but honestly it isn't. As long as you aren't run down, or feeling sick from the exercising then it is perfectly healthy to do. Everyday I do 30 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of pilates which is kind of like yoga, 20 minute walk, and crunches. So, I think that as long as you don't feel faint, loose breath or anything like that when you exercise it is perfectly fine. If you do just take a day off. Good job on your exercising and I hope you reach your goal. GOOD LUCK!

I like walking outside because it gives you more adventure so u don't get board as fast as u do on a treadmill. I usually do a short warm-up on a treadmill, and then go for a wlak, or jog around my neighborhood.
