Hey Jess, well i still have a long way to go but i can tell you how i started.First off i stoped drinking my calories, so no juice no soda none of that. Instead i try to eat as much fruit as possible. I also avoid fried foods, or fast foods. But when i go out i do have something i don't normally have, just try your hardest not to pig out which btw at frist is hella hard. For breakfast and dinner i have something light idk that's just me you don't have to. As for workingout, exercisetv.com is awsome try it out they have free workouts. Also i downloaded a turbojam workout if you want it just tell me and i can find a way to e-mail it to you. Also when i'm down i look for motivation, i search weighloss stories in google or youtube, there are lots. Last thing is never give up no matter how hard it gets we can all do this i believe in me and in you . God bless and you can count on me if you need a weight loss buddy =)

Hi Mike. I used to be 235Lb. Now I'm 213. What i did that helped me was..I walked 30min everyday no matter what, i do abobut 30 situps or as many as i can, cause sometimes i don't have time. I do 69 jumping jacks, but u may have to work your way up. Start small. I just started something that helped my mom. When she was younge she weighed 300 pounds at age 14-15. She also dropped tremendous amounts of weight. You know what she did? danced. So maybe it sounds goofy, stupid or a "girl" things, but dancing in ur room for 30 min, could help. If you keep moving and jumping and twisting, it's very challenging. So i hope this helps, i know i'm miserable and will do anything to loose wieght...I wish you all the luck in the world!

I lost about 20 pounds with ballet when I took it. Got from 210 to 190-ish in 9 months. It was cardio intensive, and I'm not sure how your class will work, but any activity is good. Keep with it, eat healthy, and you'll be at your goal weight eventually. And don't worry about everyone being smaller than you, if that's a factor -- there was a girl in my class at about 300 pounds, and I think she lost even more weight than I did.

Jumping rope is cheap, easy, and burns a buttload of calories.. If you're not used to it, you'll get REALLY bad tightness & pain in your calf muscles the first couple times.. I could barely walk for a couple days after I started, but around the 3rd time it wasn't so bad.

Well, you could just start with walking around the block once a day and eating a bit less. When you can walk around the block well, try jogging around twice, or something like that. Don't think of it as exercise and a diet, think of it as, let's say, a walk around with friends and a new favorite food!
Good luck

Do everything Amanda said. And if you feel self concious about working out in front of others, buy excersise tapes, training bike or a treadmill. You need atlest an hour of excersise a day.And walk alot with your friends, explore your town. Its very fun.Stop eating when your full.Your meals should be fist size.Yes,the stomach is a size of a fist :) Best wishes

Ht. 5'4", Start: 173 lb, Today: 169 lb (BMI %tile: 96), Goal: 130 lb - I think a great way to stay on the tredmile without getting bored is to listen to music or watch the television while walking. It keeps you from being bored and before you know it you've walked for an hour! I've done really good today on my eating except for the 2 muffins at dinner and 2 rolls at lunch...i eat WAY to many carbs. they're just so yummy...anyway, i'll get back to you guys in like maybe a few days, a week at the most and tell you how i've done! love you all! good luck this week!

I commend you on trying to find a way to exercise that you can get into instead of opting not to exercise at all. I think that you should consider trying to find someone who is in your approximate weight range to exercise with you, trust me, exercising is much easier when you do it with a partner that shares the same conditions as you do. and remember that the weight loss process is NOT EASY so stick to it!!! U won't regret it if you do but you will if you don't.

Hi man, I may not seem fat to myself, but to me I am. I used to weigh almost 170lb at 5'9", now i am about 158 still same height. It was really hard to get into the habit of exercising almost everyday because I sit a lot sadly. But the thing that motivated me was P90X, I know that it is really hard and extenuating, but the results do not lie. But what you do need to do is cut back on a lot of fast food if you do eat it. I know, it is hard at first, but once you are finally getting use to not eating it, it becomes more and more easier to say to yourself I don't need this, and neither does my body. Now maybe P90X is to much to start out with, I would say start cutting back on things you do not necessarily need. Also to start off with running if you do not do it, then i recommend this, start with walking for about 5 minutes then run for 15 minuets. Then increase the amount of time every... (view more)
