I've been trying to loose weight too I would consider myself to be a big eater the thing i did most is sowly change the type of food I ate. Me and my friends all take popcorn and pasta to school etc But we don't put anything like salt on our food. You should read fats and figures by Karen Daily (Australian author.)

Hi. This is my first time on this site. I need help bad. I have been fat for 6 or 7 years now. I am 4'10 and weigh a huge 400 pounds. This makes me feel so sad and unhappy. So I eat. And I mean eat. When I get really unhappy I can eat 2 x-large pizzas myself. My stretche marks line my body. I have a donut sized belly butten. I need specially made cloths. I tried to find cloths at normal stores but they didn't fit. 2 years ago I was at a friend's house swimming. I put my new swim suit on and the seems exploded the seconde I bent over. I just feel so bad. Please help me. I need all the help and comments I can get.

If you want to lose weight, Find a calorie chart and make up meal plans, but first eat normal and figure out how many calories you consume in a day. Normal is around 2500 with excercise. Please, if you need any help with meal plans, e-mail me at redhair487@yahoo.com. ps-a great calorie chart is available at www.ntwkrs.com/~mikev/chart1a.htm

hi im 13 1/2 years old and im 5'8 and weigh 178 lbs and i need to loose weight by the stat of the school year.People say im not fat but thats because i suck in my stomach and wear big shirts.im trying to loose 2o lbs but i just keep gaining weight.i work out 3 hours a day and i need help.
Reply From Dustin, Age 13 - 07/06/01 show message replied to go to original board
First of all, yes, you should lose some weight. I'm your height, 18 lb lighter, and I still have a rather large stomach. Second, I used to do the exact same thing that you do (suck in, big shirts) but I seemed to gain more weight because of that. Finally, you may workout 3 hrs a day,but if you don't change your eating habits it won't mean anything. With a little determination you can do it.

Don't listen to your coach, you are thin. I know how it feels though because my ballet teachers always told me I was fat. You may want to think about whether its worth playing that sport, because your coach should NOT be saying that to you.

I heard about this drink called the "Hollywood Drink" it's 100% juice and it doesn't cantain any of that stuff that most get slim quick plans do. In 48 hours u can lose up to 10 pounds. It cleans out your body so you can become healthy too. It has a Guarantee and everything. It has been apporved as a safe juice. the site is http://www.mineralconnection.com/hollywood.htmI want to know if you think I should try it. You don't put pounds back on either like other diets. You transition back 2 your regular diet.
Reply From Sue, Age 40 - 04/05/01 show message replied to go to original board
Be very, very wary of anything that claims this. Have tried umpteen of these such diets in the past - juice, cabbage soup, you name it. You do actually lose weight very quickly because you are losing water, but you do put it on again, very, very quickly. I sincerely hope I am wrong but I would be very, very cautious.

Ok, this is a post about committment. I am currently overweight, and I have started to endure in cardiorepiratory work outs...but the problem is, how do I stay on task? I tend to slack off because I get discouraged. I have a very low metabolism, so I lose weight VERY slowly, and it's hard...I am currently in a size 16-18, and I guess my first goal is to get down to a 13...then work from there. I don't need tips on how to diet or exercise but of commitment and dedication. I would appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks a bunch! :)

When I'm out there I lose track of time. I'm busy and don't think of eatting. And most important,I wasn't sitting. Sitting and EATTING.By Sept. I was down to 158.That was 6 mos.,and 32 lbs. Then the weather started to change, started getting cooler. And I prefered to stay inside. Iknew I would have to watch my self, or I would gain to much back.If I found myself sitting around.Iwould get up and do something, like housework, rearrange something.Well I made it though the winter, and weighed 160. But I did see-saw with my weight. But I knew if I could keep it below 170lbs. that once March came I would be back out in my yards.Right now I'm 154. I don't want to be 125lbs. again but 140 would be nice.About a size 10 or 12.By the way I'm 5'7 and average frame. So thats about what I need to be. I also know that once I reach the weight I want.I'll have to watch myself still. I'll need to check my weight.Cause from pass experince,I will gain it before I know it.Being overweight isn't something I did over night. But it is something I don't have to be,you don't have to be. I know that 1 to 2 lbs a week don't sound very encouraging, but it's the only safe way. And the way that works the best.It may take 2-3 weeks before you see the first drop in your weight. But don't give up.Do this for yourself, think of the future and all the things you want to do. I'm not saying you can't you can't have a future if your over weight. But that you can have a better one with less weight. (view less)

I had a similar amount of weight to lose as you and I wanted to lose it fast! I also feel fat in a bathing suit. Well, I have lost about 14 pounds in 10 weeks. How did I do it? With my mum I kept a count of the amount of calories and fat I was eating and then kept to below a certain amount. We had to write everything down which got boring but we soon got used to it and it really helped. We looked at a website called www.room42.com to get an idea of how many calories I should be eating and we looked up lists on the Internet of how many calories different foods were. I drank lots more water, exercised a bit more and cut a lot of the rubbish food out of my diet. I now fill myself up on fruit and veg so I don't get hungry. I can still eat things like pizza and pasta and cakes but low calorie ones so I don't feel like I am missing out on too much. One word of warning because you said about... When I started the diet I was very unhappy and just wanted to lose the weight very quickly, like you do. My mum explained that in all the diets she has ever been on, if you lose weight fast then it usually goes back on again fast. It is must better to educate your body slowly to eat better. I got a bit upset when one week I hadn't lost anything when I had been really good but the following week I lost two pounds. You say you want to be slimmer for the summer. You have plenty of time to lose the weight you want to. (view less)

Hey, I posted on here earlier that I was 5' 4 and 160 and that I wore size 34 in pants. Well I Just wanted to say that I'm about 150 and wear a size 33. I'm really excited. One thing, though. Does anyone know how many calories or grams of fat I need to lose weight? Also, what is a good weight and waist size for me? Like some help please.

Congrats! I have also gone from a 34 to 33 inch waist. I have lost about 7 pounds, but have worked out so I have gained 3 pounds from muscle. What I do is limit my calorie intake to 1500-1600 calories per day. room42.com has a calculator that tells you how many calories you need to gain, stay the same, or lose weight. It helps!!

Like- ok, I play soccer and I guess I have the "typical" soccer look- as in big, sort of muscular thighs... how do you get rid of this? It is so annoying- I never wear shorts cept on the field and like I want to, but it looks totally grody. So yeah- help please!!

Hon' it's muscles that you've got there. You have to just be happy with your legs. You are a strong girl and you obviously work hard at soccer. Athletic girls are beautiful too!

Hey! I know how you feel. I weigh in at 165 and I'm on a diet that I started a few days ago. If you have a chance, check out this months Reads Digest. They have an article on losing weight. I have a calorie diary,a motivation book (pictures of skinny people) and a goal paper. I figure if I eat no more than 1500 calories, I should lose weight. Maybe it will work for you too. But make sure that you do some research first. prevention.com is a great web sight that I found. You can plan meals and excercise routines. You can also find out many calories you have burned with a special tool. TRY it. It just might work for you!

Looking at these posts, I see most of you are trying to lose 10-20 pounds. Is there anyone (like me) who is heavier and trying to lose 50-60 pounds? I would love talking to other teens who also have severe weight problems, and are trying to lose a lot of weight. We could motivate each other to succeed. :o)-Arsa
